Shiny pants

I have accidentally bought shiny pants. They’re still plain black, but shiny. I must have picked up a different style in the shop yesterday.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. I don’t think I’m a shiny pants kind of person.

Put them on with gusto and then, through your Bower & Wilkins™, play Shiny Shiny by Haysi Fantayzee on Spotify. Maximum volume, of course.

Haysi Fantayzee and R.E.M. - this has the makings of a great playlist!

"Well going by you pics I think you would look good in anything you wore"

You’re far too kind, and I know perfectly well you’d rather I avoided pants completely.

"What material?"

I thought they were just cotton but now I’m not so sure. There’s a sheen I wasn’t expecting.

"I think we need a pic before we can give a valid opinion "

I’ve got to be honest, I’m not sure whether this is a public pic or private message kind of situation. Not until I decide whether I feel comfortable with they shininess.

Are they shiny with the bum cheeks showing? Mid-life crisis maybe?

Steady on, nothing so extreme.

If they feel comfortable and they look good on you then why not simply enjoy. Failing that, if you're not happy with them then stick them on eBay or better still donate to charity if unworn.

Maybe they’ve been worn many times already and returned to the shop by a scoundrel who ‘lost his receipt’.

Probably best to give them a quick brush down before wearing.

"Probably best to give them a quick brush down before wearing."

Now you mention it the packaging was slightly foxed.

"Ooh shiny "

Is that a Firefly reference? I hope so. Shiny.

"I'm with Nora - we can't provide an informed response without visuals"

Oh, FINE. For you, Nora, and the numerous gay/bi chaps who private messaged me, I’ll put up a public pic. Happy now?

"What material?

Are they silk - if so keep them.

If they are 'metallic' shiny then you need to take them back.

If you cannot show them, maybe do an image search on Google of "shiny men's underwear" and tell us which ones - there are some frightening images that crop up!

I'm sure they'll look... interesting.

Do they make you feel... interesting?

If yes, fuck it. Wear them. If not, return them.

You’ll be disappointed, you know. Especially if you’re expecting silver lamé or something.

There’s a strict ‘no returns’ policy on worn scuddies. And rightly so.

I’m keeping these things for better or worse now.

They are fine. Much like what the cyclists wear here, which keeps the ladies from overtaking them

As I thought. You need to be careful your ladies don't slide off your lap when you are wearing them tho

That’s the thing. This shinier material does seem to put me on display somewhat.

Hey, we’re not Americans here. (Except Blu, and she hasn’t appeared in this thread.)

Funnily enough, I’ve usually taken my specs off long before we get down to my underwear …

I think might be the first time you’ve *ever* asked me to keep some clothes on.
