"Hate it when jobs worth do this.

To be honest it’s pissed me off big time.

It’s a question I could have answered today in about a 5 min phone call.

Or even a direct email. But he’s copied in the world

Wherever I lay my hat

Urgh... Pet peeve of mine.

And when I'm cc'd in but expected to action something. Fuck right off... I only ever check my cc box every few days because of all those dick splashes filling it up with shite I don't need to know about so don't hold your breath for a reply (day 4 post holiday and struggling to get back into the swing of things )

Not all that North of North London

I worked at a place where quite a senior manager was doing this to a partner organisation. It was grim they'd reply direct to the manager who would then again copy in multiple colleagues. I think I was the only person thinking it was pathetic rather than hilarious. It was considered a 'success' when the recipient lost their shit and called them out

"People open their emails?"

Well some of them I do … although I do have 2246 unread work emails which I deem unimportant.

And I have 31,041 unread personal emails.

Thankfully my like manager told me not to reply but to arrange a meeting Monday morning to discuss and for him to table an agenda of concerns/issues .

In the west.

Whenever we get an all users e-mail from senior management or H&S telling us to empty the fridge and turn lights off at holidays my manager then sends it to everyone in our team.

Is so glad that my manager takes the time to do this as I am unable to read original e-mails, especially as they have to take the time to send it out of their 25 hour day.

Guarantees the people who agree with the OP will miss something important in one of those emails and complain that no one told them about it later on...

Should be done only when necessary and not used a a tool, as some do, to frighten people if they copy their managers in. Also, speaking of emails, why would you email with worrying stuff everyone last thing on Friday when people don't have the chance to discuss with anyone until Monday and they might be worrying about it all weekend. Totally poor management style.

No, I get that to be fair. It's almost like they're putting you on trial in front of other people

I agree reference timely manner of emails.

I never send worrying emails to staff late on in evening or emails

“Hi John, really need a chat tomorrow”

Does my head in!

I do this exact thing because it pisses people off.

On the chance that I have anonymously worked/correspond with any of you at all and have sent an email like this, I am not sorry.

North Norfolk area

When my divisional director emailed me to advise that as a result of my recent assessment, I wouldn't be getting any salary increase, nor participate in the profit share, I responded by informing him that it would have been nice to have actually had the assessment.....and cc'd everybody within the division!

Funnily enough, I didn't survive the oncoming reorganisation!
