I’m naturally left handed, but I was taught to be right handed when I was a kid.
As a result, I rarely use my left hand for anything, I do most tasks one handed |

"What are you?
I’m interested to know what a lefty thinks about those that are right handed. Because you lefty’s are weird! "
^ what he says.
In the olden days there was conversion therapy for those who were left handed - my father became ambidextrous (not that you would be able to read his hand writing any better cos after all he was a doctor) |

So you are a proper weirdo? I bet you put your belt in two different ways and everything. |

I had my left hand tied to my waist so I couldn’t use it, the training has never left me |

Singular activities as in writing, using phone, stirring coffee then right handed.
Double hand activities as in golf, rifle shooting, batting in cricket then take a left handed stance. Been told it's to do with eye strength and focus but it just feels more natural personally.
Ben Stokes is the same cricket wise, as is Jimmy Anderson |

Both lefties here, but Mr is weird as he is a mixture. Writes left handed, snooker and football left, but racket sports and cricket right handed. Not quite ambidextrous
We find that the world is geared up for righties, and that causes some issues, especially when you have weird mug handles designed only for the right hand (as an example). But back in the day my bank did provide a left handed cheque book, so not always bad! |

No I was just white-knighting for them, I’m right handed like any normal person…. |

Well I must be totally weird because if I hold things with one hand I’m right handed but if I need to hold things with two hands ie golf clubs, cricket bat, baseball bat I’m left handed |

So do you still like having your left hand tied to your waist, or tied somewhere else? |

"I'm ambisinister!
Predominantly left but able to use both hands?"
That's correct but probably more skilled at using my right hand than a right hander would be at using their left, simply because we live in a right handed world.
Also, I rather like the term ambisinister as the complement to ambidextrous.
Sadly, it apparently means 'equally clumsy or unskilled with both hands'. Such is the general conception of left handedness!

Write with my left hand, throw/catch and *ahem do everything else with my right when C’s mouth isn’t available
I can also write with my right hand but I have to concentrate more.
I’m also left footed

I had never considered how lefties were discriminated against until this!
Years ago, whilst in a uniformed job, we were issued with jumpers. They had a pen pocket on the sleeve.
One of the lefties pointed out it was discriminatory as they all had pen pockets only on the L sleeve, thereby favouring right handed pen holders. Think through the action for a right handed person. You move your R hand up, take out the pen and then write. Lefties couldn't do that and had to juggle the pen half way through.
In fairness to the organisation, they listened to feedback and future issues had pen pockets on both sides!!

I’m left handed but do everything other than write with my right hand. Both my kids are left handed too. Right handed people have had their time, me and my sons will unite all lefties and take over the world. |

"Lefty here but I am quite ambidextrous. Like when I play cricket I bowl left handed and bat right.
Imho lefty's who use their left hand to work a computer mouse are just wrong!"
Interesting. I can use a computer mouse right handed and also use a Morse key right handed but in each case I have a sense of tension in my brain. I taught myself to send Morse right handed in order to free up my left for scribbling notes in the same time frame. Unusual in this day and age but I use Morse a lot as a heritage communications thing which needs keeping alive as a skill. When the crunch comes and all things digital go down the pan, It will be there in its rugged simplicity. I will send telegrams of reassurance to your loved ones via the nearest surviving operator!
Similarly I type one fingered (middle finger on left hand, very fast) on the computer. I have never mastered touch typing and most likely never will. |

I think because that the way I learned when I first had a computer in 1998 it's just second nature for me now |

Started at school as a righty but wrote backwards so changed to lefty, at 5 I could do that. they left me alone until I was 15 then decided I had to write righty it took me half an hour to do three lines and it looked like a dyslexic spider had crawled across the page, they left me alone again.
I shoot rifles and pistols lefty but bows righty because I use my dominant hand to steady the bow. The only thing I do righty is finger bang and wank. ?? |

I feel for you. Most of us can use our other hand sometimes so it feels like someone else is doing it |

I'm left handed and left footed.
I play golf right handed though, buy probably only because the first club I picked up was a right-handed one.
Other lefties will know the pain of smudging their handwriting when they wrote with a pen. |

Compounded by the action of pushing the pen into the paper at an awkward angle. Writing lines as a punishment was double punishment due to the extra friction involved.
Also, a nib type pen is more likely to flick ink when used at a left handed angle.
I wonder if King Charles III is left handed? I suspect not as the newspapers would have picked up on it before he gets to do too much more royal warrant signing, with or without ink blotches! |
