you've got two people who could start a fight in an empty room. I think Mancini has the ability to rein himself in. Balotelli will probably lose it one day and kick the shit out of someone. It's a shame cos the media always concentrate on the negative with him. He's been known to be quite nice away from the game. well apart from the firework thing. As someone said he's a bit of a dickhead. I quite like him

And nobody has asked why Balotelli got sharp treatment from his manager.

He went in overly hard on a tackle on a teammate in a training session, and a team fighting for the title cannot afford to lose a player to a pointless injury from a teammate. If I was Mancini I'd have lost it too.

You clearly don't understand football. I'm a Man U fan and cannot stand City but in fairness to Mancini, he's taken that team to the their first title in 44 years.

Chelsea have the same level of investment and don't win it every year. Having the money isn't enough, you need the players and a manager to gel them as a team.

One championship makes hm a good manager ..

The fact hes got endless suppys of money to spend, and gets knocked out the champion league in the 1st rounds..

Be suprised what i know about football, the blokes got to huge an ego fergie has also. But then he's done it consistentely with no where near the money Mancini has

balotelli is without doubt a talented player, with massive potential, but he's lazy, impetuous, and moody.in fact he acts like a spoilt child, when he doesn't get it all his own way.

his performance's this season have been diabolical, his first touch has been poor, combined with a low work rate.he would be lucky to hold down a regular first team place with bolton, never mind man city.

he needs his arse booted all day every day,if he wont listen to the likes of mancini, his carreer could be on a slippery slope.

Think I would have smacked him one ages ago.

He's talented but a div.

He needs 'managing' but so do many a young footballer.

I'd have Mancini as a manager any day. Ok he may have had money but he has made (on the whole) the right choices.

There's a bigger picture involved with all of this.

Player power.

These players are earning far, far too much money. Simple as that. They've completely lost touch with reality and have no respect for managers, or many other individuals.

It's a fickle world, the 'bubble' in which we call football these days, and certainly not the better for it, either.

As for loyalty in the game...

Balotteli, is just one of many examples of the current petulant, immature, narcissistic mercenaries, that litter our game today.

Many others also spring to mind, Joey Barton, Marlon King, El Hadji Diouf...

see... if you said to me 5 million.. as an arsenal fan i would take him....

but he is almost unsellable.... who would take that risk......

I'd like to see if wenger could tame him just a little bit, plus the huge italian community in london around him, I am wondering if he would cope a bit better down south???

That's the problem these days!! Teams like chelski and shitty don't give the managers time to build a team, they get a team a previous manager has built and are expected to win titles straight away.

Where as United have given Fergie time and patience to build then even when we are not winning the title they stick by him and keep there faith.

Anyone got huuuuge tweezers for my arse? lol

Been looking on bbc sport at the pics and it is very interesting there arent any pics of the 'bad' tackle.

Is this just to get rid of Mancini?

I think he's a great tak... Tatical (whats the word) manager.

Obviously I prefer city to utd but I respect Mancini as he took on a lot there.

Managers need to earn respect and some cant master that.

Yes I include Rogers in the earning respect. Something dodgy and dont know what. At least Raffa was fairly see through when things went tits up with hicks n gillet.

Love the pic on fb of torres n raffa saying they were going to fk chelsea over. Made me giggle. Sorry to nice chelsea fans

How many teams (with or without) money give managers a chance?

An acquaintence of mine was recently sacked (think league 1) after getting his team promoted (poss championship). He moved on to another struggling team and had been sacked. His pal who drinks in the same pub is now care taker manager.

Go figure!

And yet in his early days at United he was one game away from being sacked. It does make you wonder whether some of those managers that are sacked are just one game away from greatness.

Love this guy - here's a little snipet if his character:

Just days after signing for City, he hit the headlines after crashing his Audi R8 en route to the club's training ground.

He was found to be carrying £5,000 in cash at the time of the accident and when police asked why, he reportedly replied: "Because I am rich."

Haha

Money obviously helps, but he's got the experience to cope with the pressure. If you remember last season Fergie's team bottled it and Mancini won the mind games. He knows what he's doing, and the press love to jump on anything city related. Bust ups happen all the time on training pitches. Saying that though, I've lost patience with Balotelli and think he needs to be got rid of pronto. No-ones bigger than the club.

Man city have sent more than 1 billion on players since 2008. You think utd have spent anywhere near that ? One championship ans one FA cup i wouldn't say that was a good return..

Last season was one of the best Championship run-ins in living memory. It went right down to the final second, the final kick of the final game - and City got it, courtesy of one goal - just ONE GOAL. Good luck to them, i'm sure they'll be winning it again, just not this year.
