I spoke to the postperson this morning, at the end of my street.

The dialogue was well received.

Thank you.

Not in the street but a cute guy started chatting to me in a coffee shop queue and we ended up dating for about 6 months.

Yep. The person I had a long term relationship with before my fiancé.

Saw him at a conference. Liquid courage later, went over and spoke to him with the cheering of my colleagues embarrassing the fuck out of me as I did. Dated him for a couple of years so yeah. Thanks free bar, you helped my vagina. Maybe not my heart.

I love chatting to people from those behind the counter at local shop to dog walkers and people on the train. Problem is that so many people walk about these days with that agree look as they are about to thump you, never mind have a conversation with you. I am sure we all used to be friendlier than now.

It's not common for me being neurodivergent I do miss a lot of social cues. However, when it's directly in my face and I manage to be in the present moment( not in my imaginary lala land) and make eye contact, it does happen.

I’m more of a social creature and tend to shine in a face-to-face type situation than I do with the online texting shenanigans. I like to see facial expression and body language which are key to communicating with people. Looking someone in the eye and whispering sweet nothings to them is my preferred method of communication as to talking to someone over text for ages and then meeting and there is no chemistry. Put me in a room and I’m golden

Yes. I approached a lady in the Tesco car park yesterday. I said hi and explained why I was there and asked he if I could look at her car because I have been looking to buy one myself. She showed me round it and the boot. She even explained what she was going to convert some of it to a camper. Miles per gallon and everything. Very nice lady. It was Toyota Vellfire if anyone is interested.

Under the current climate I would not dare approach a lady in the street with any pick up desires or sexual desires. Just not the right place in my opinion.

Not in the streets, but I usually am pretty good at socialising with total strangers at a bar, and I've had impromptu conversations with other diners around me in a restaurant or bistro setting before.

Pre October I would have rather died than do this . I was so shy.

But my cancer diagnosis in October has changed a lot. This is one thing. Now I chat to anyone and it seems like the easiest thing in the world. I’m a lot more smiley (and positive) and I think just generally more approachable.

Others seem to pick up on this also so it’s a good thing for me.

Reminds me of a response I got after my usual retort when asked "Zatta meal?" at McDonalds. I either reply "No, it's junk food" or "A dietician wouldn't call it one" (if I think they have heard of dieticians).

On this occasion I got the reply "Wow, You made my day". Unfortunately this was at the drivethru interface and not face to face so the opportunity to progress was missed!

By the way, you can avoid being asked "Izatta meal" if you mention the fries before the burger as that doesn't fit in with their training routine.
