Ok, I have decided to restrict my evening fabs time and spend at least one hour in the early evening walking/ jogging/ running and getting some fresh air.

If you had to manage your free time better, what would you be doing more of... and what would you do less?;-)

I’ve now reached the point where I intend to resurrect my original motive for taking early retirement and spend less time resting on my laurels ….!.

For me it would be less time cleaning because my children would not make as much mess. Lol

Does anybody find the more time they have.. the less they actually get done? I find I get heaps more done when I am under time pressure.

Totally! it is surprising how many little jobs you can do in 10 minutes.

Also... I dont think it is selfish to "make" some time for yourself even when busy. I am thinking for example when there are kids to be considered.. it is far more difficult, but surely if we dont look after ourselves... we cant be as helpful to others including in our parenting? So again, there have got to be better ways to make time more effective?

I wrote a list the other day of things I always say I don't do enough of. This includes reading (a chapter a day) walking/leaving the house every day, even if I have nowhere to go, separately exercise, even if I did a long walk, do housework, finish projects etc. Day 3 and I'm feeling much more positive! I know it might not last but at least I'll have x amount of days I spent better!

"I have a time machine so the is not an issue."

But Funky me O’l mate, if I’m understanding you here…?

Are we saying that travelling in a time machine that allows you to perform many tasks with simultaneous ease and efficiently, actually change’s your gender in order to accomplish this phenomenon …?

Or a meringue…. eh!

Sounds such an easy thing to do...sounds like you got yourself organised and hope you keep it up. Think I might just make myself a list as well !

Now I am not working weekends, I allocate Saturday morning to do all the housework aside from washing and ironing which I do when needed.

I would like to learn to sew so I would like to allocate time for that as I have quite a few skirts that need hemming and some need taking in where I have lost weight

Plus more time for meets

Take each task as it comes..then when you have completed each you will have a little gain....with each little gain you win...

Yes I work well under pressure and thrive with a challenge under time constraints

The more time I have, not ever in a work sense as I am always under pressure and work to a regimented timescale, but other stuff, then I think of well I have say 4 hours today to do x, and wait until the last hour and run around like a blue arsed fly

I did the 'riding the rapids' course, a course specifically designed for parents/carers of disabled carers.

The main focus and best thing I learnt was the importance of self care, did lead me to having my 1st affair and the rest they say is history.

Theory is correct though, look after yourself and you'll be better placed to look after others and cope

I spent most of my working life under time constants and always found I worked much more efficiently under pressure.

It took me a fair bit to get the work home balance right. The it will get done and not rising to the aren't you able to do it that people always seem to put on you.

I need to make time for me, clean less and do more, like the idea of making myself leave the house for a short while each day to take a walk or do something for me, I think may have to try this, I'm terrible at managing my time and get easily sidetracked into wasting half my day doing sod all

Yep happens all the time to me, if I've lots of free time I sit infront of that xbox and before I know it half the days gone lol , if times limited I seem to get loads more done

If I could manage time better, I wouldn't be sat here stressing over a 1600 word essay due in in 2 days time, that I haven't read any of the 4 chapters for!!

Just to say... making that list is really helpful. I started last night and got tons done today AND had time for a gym visit!

Glad to have unintentionally helped! I want to eventually get into a routine so they all happen naturally but at the moment I'm just happy they get done at all, whatever time of day it is!
