Vanilla?
This is going to be rather cheesy. I don't really want gifts. Flowers. None of that.
Time. Actual time with someone. A letter. The literary romantic in me will always value handwritten letters, the time someone has spent thinking of you, finding the right words to express things that are so nuanced. I think words are so important to me and if someone makes an effort to embrace language because they know it means a lot to me, they'll be around for some time.
And then I'm happy to do whatever. Cook their favourite meal, go for a coffee. Make cocktails. Snuggle all day. Go to the gym because you've agreed to accompany someone. |

I had one amazing valentines once with an ex. I forget why, but I hadn’t really bothered much aside from buying stuff for dinner (unlike me!) and he totally overcompensated. He chose some films from Blockbuster (yep, THAT long ago), bought flowers, and had made chocolate dipped strawberries. Then he’d run a bath and put candles everywhere and put music I like on.
Then after all that, and dinner, we proceeded to have perfectly adequate sex
So basically that, again, but swapping out the ‘adequate’ for ‘filthy and mind blowing’ |

Where the flamboyance of flamingos live |
A dine in for 2 that I’ll have over 2 evenings , glass of fizz and a good film on the telly, then bed to snuggle my teddy.
I saw my daughter today and she’d bought me a valentine’s card and 2 red roses, that’s all I need x |

I cannot remember the last time I went on a date, in a traditional/romantic sense. I wish I had a point of reference.
For me, I would really enjoy an afternoon out to an art gallery. Not a temporary exhibition but instead the permanent collection that's often overlooked and less appreciated.
A spot of light lunch with unfussy food and wine but enough to subtly fuss over each other. |

"I want to spend the day with a guy that'll buy me hash browns, make me laugh, and fuck me like a hoare.
I’m in "
Yay, not too early though. Around 10 is good. |

I’m romantic all year so I don’t go OTT at Valentines.
It’s the little things, I make C her tea and coffee in bed, sometimes breakfast.
I’ll leave notes for her, or post them through the letter box so our Sproodle collects it and takes it into C.
I give foot rubs, massages and we spend time talking to each other every night.
If I can make C smile and feel loved throughout the busy day then I’m happy too

I haven’t been seeing anyone as Valentine’s Day rolls around for about 15 years. Wow, sobering thought.
I just want to be with someone for the day with whom I share deep feelings of love and intimacy. I want to go out somewhere nice for the day and have a relaxed lunch or afternoon tea.
I’d work a little surprise gesture in so she knows I’ve been thinking about her.
Evening, maybe a nice long, hot bath together with nibbles of our favourite foods.
And then I would do the sex at her. |

A valentine is simply a person who wants to be with someone that also wants the be with that person ...both want to be with eachother...after that nothing else matters. |

My favourite 'romantic' mornings was someone bringing me a cup of tea in bed and a stack of warm buttered pancakes whilst we watched futurama. Then decent sex. A pleasant dog walk and back to bed to watch a film where I could fall asleep with my head on a warm chest. That would do me. |

Send me your address and I’ll send ypu something in the post.
It won’t be handwritten, but will have taken a lot of time, care and attention |

I was proposed to on valentines. We married February the year after.
Now February just has memories of my husbands last weeks.
It holds nothing for me now. Always been fucked about since.
Don’t put your heart out there, keep it protected.
Best to stay guarded.
Never expect anything from anyone and you won’t be disappointed |

Im not a lover of the expense of valentines, With the chocolates and flowers.
Id rather recieve a letter or pm or even something wrote and sent via a forum.
It costs nothing to write it out, To consider others.
This is why ive wrote out so many over the years, For many on the other forum and on this forum.
To give you an idea ive sent between 15-45 valentines messages a year.
For 16 years.
They have been given a smile.
They have been given a surprise too many.
Some cry in tears of joy.
Whilst many have been shocked to find out who they are from.
Ive always given the valentine op a valentines poem.
What have I gained from all these years of giving out these valentines poems.
A beaming smile
Ive got to watch all of your nice comments
The best part is where youve all tried to guess who the sender is.

Yeah because people have a sign on them saying they’re a dick.
Of course it’s my fault for who I ‘choose’
What a stupid comment |

First valentines with the mrs (we’d been together 2 months) I cooked her a 7 course Thai platter. Didn’t realise how intolerant to spice she was. She spent most of the night on the shitter and the rest of it curled up with an ice pack between her cheeks |

We have a tradition that mirrors our very first Valentines many years ago, we share a bag of chips on the seafront
It's in Devon nowadays, back along on our first Valentines it was at a very windy Margate. |

I'm not into 'things' I love someone's time and thought. My partner makes me a photo card of memories from the year before which I love! This year we plan to spend the day hanging out with games and snacks and an evening in the hot tub |

Just something thoughful would make me feel all warm and gooey. Absolutley does not need to be a big or expensive guesture, a lovely message to say theyre thinking of me, a lingering kiss with a look of longing in their eyes. I live in hope! X |
