Are you someone that acts a certain way in the forums, but in DMs once turned on with someone can act totally differently? Essentially, a lot more kinky/filthy/extreme than anyone else would know? |

possibly, but how do you define "how" kinky somebody is? How do you compare only a bit with very? I guess it depends on each persons idea of what is and what isn't?

I don't act in either scenario.
What you see is what you get in forum engagement.
I refuse to discuss personal kinks or preferences with anyone I'm not meeting so obviously those conversations will be different but once again no acting involved. |

Not at all! I speak my mind, and say it as I see it, at all times. I would certainly hate to disappoint my forum fan club by being ‘caught out’ for not being true to my perceived self….  |

Oh I waffle on here. In private. I'd even go so far as to say the more comfortable I am, the more I love waffling away with someone.
In terms of talking about sex, it's not something I'd do with someone I don't know. But the me where I write about sex and relish the chance to be open about my sexuality? I'm very much like that when I get to know someone. The smut I write is how I really feel, it just takes me time to warm to someone enough to discuss it in that way.
I'm probably kinkier in private come to think of it. But I prefer keeping that more personal. |

I don’t feel the need for anyone I’m not meeting or intending to meet to know what goes on in my head so to an extent I keep something’s for private messages but that’s not to say I’m not my real self on forum posts. I just don’t need everyone to know my business  |

I didn't read the OPs post to mean were people being fake though. Just revealing or protecting parts of yourself for public or private. |

In a way yes, but more so that the flirting or whatever is more direct and personal. Largely because while I am an obvious flirt on the forums, a lot of it is just friendly flirting.
Some people don't like excessive public flirting either as the recipient or as an outside party. So I keep that out of public and in private as I say is more direct but still respectable as anyone I've chatted to in messages can tell you.
So yes there is a different side from public forum to messages but not a whole other personality so to speak. |
