...no, not that sort you mucky devil

I'm talking more general everyday stress, that has the potential to move into something bigger if not addressed.

Or, do you accept that some stress is part of life and roll with the punches?

How do you know when too much is too much?

Durham, North Yorkshire and can travel

We have high levels of stress and just accept it's part of our lives. Work/family stresses are part and parcel and you just have to deal with it. I cope by facing challenges on a day to day basis and try not to look too far ahead, otherwise it would become overwhelming.

Sex and chocolate are my stress relief methods at the moment.

I think to some extent stress can be part of life. But I find life easier if I don't fixate on it so it becomes something bigger. Accepting it happens, finding ways to make stress manageable is what works for me. Whether that's talking to friends, having quality time with loved ones.

I'm quite a high energy/low energy sort of person. Not an inbetween. So now I embrace that and lean into it. It's not a constant, things do get better. And having things to look forward to, to plan helps a lot.

South Essex

A walk in the countryside (preferably in the warm sun) and leave the mobile indoors. That works wonders. Or a day on a nice quiet naturist beach with a good book.

Can’t beat being in the great outdoors away from the trappings of modern life. Trouble is, the opportunities are few and far between, especially this time of year.

I’ve recently started swimming a couple of times a week, which I find great for emptying my head.

I think everyone deals with things differently. I'm fortunate in that I can step back, think positively and find a way round most problems.

A long walk or listening to music always helps.

To be fair clitoral orgasm clears my stress for a while.

Obviously can't do that all the time..

So try & counter negative thoughts with a positive.

Currently having a mental health wobble as struggling to find a positive, however I know I will.

Also something I read yesterday if something is stressing you out now, will it really matter in a years time?..

Made me think.

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

Exercise.

Get outside, even if it’s not the best weather.

Sleep.

Music.

Talking to people.

Sex.

The right food.

A distraction such as an absorbing hobby.

Try and keep things in context as sometimes it isn’t as big a deal as you first thought. (Christmas is a great example of this).

Stress is good, over stressed is bad!

Hope thinks go okay for you.

Gbat

I used to swim regularly every weekend, I do hiking now instead.Maybe it's a good idea to get back into swimming.

Fresh air definitely does help. Sometimes just being in the open space is enough.

Cold showers??

I'll book myself a spa day and sit in the warm instead.

People joke about stress and some even wear it as a badge of honour, but chronic stress is a killer.

I think I'm quite a naturally stressy person, but I do what I can to counteract it. My main things are exercise, walking and self-hipn0sis.

I view stress like anger. It's only yourself who can make you stressed, since stress is the way you handle a situation. What makes one person stressed makes another motivated.

Same with anger, anger is purely based on your processing of a situation.

I always remind myself that the only person who can make you feel angry is yourself. I feel the same about stress too.

Accept you can't control everything, and focus on what you can.

stress is the person not the job or the lifestyle, if you are the type to get stressed you will be stressed unfortunately

I was genuinely considering posting this exact thing today!

Sometimes life gets crazy, busy, stressful and it feels like the rat race is all that exists.

You have to force moments into every day to just stop. Have you time to breath. You start to realise if you didn't do that thing your stressed over, most of the time is it really going to cause an issue or problem?

Mindset is a huge impact. Look at the rainbow and not the rain clouds

I had high stress level and anxiety over a year ago for a very long time. Insomnia, agoraphobia, add in basics like financials and health.

I wrote down the whats and the whys.

I work on them everyday.

I listen to music instead of tv flicking.

I bought a new bed and mattress and I'm getting more sleep which really has made a huge difference

I'm pushing myself outside one step at a time for the air

I'm looking forward to the summer when I'll open the windows

Good to hear that walking in the countryside is a popular theme for reducing stress, I am a farmer and I do the same walking in the fields , talking to my animals and my dog. And in the evening, a glass of wine and reading a few fantasy stories helps me to forget my problems.

Bad stress isn't good. Good stress serves purpose in organising our daily lives really. Being able to do something that takes your mind/body off it either a distraction or as a long term change will help. Talking to people about it or being around people that can change your mood is good. Having a plan - taking a wider view, might also help give a picture of a way to handle it or cope with it differently. Just my thoughts.
