Just for laughs...
I used to go out with a girl from down South and found it funny that she didn't understand some of the sayings we have up here in the North.
E. G
Bairn - Kid
Ket - Sweets (not the drug as she thought)
Clarts - Mud
Many more.... Just wondering what sayings people have from other parts of the country what would be classed as 'local slang'? |

Just generally talking about slang words we use.
A family member said 'there's some money for the bairns to get some ket'
She was horrified, thinking they were giving kids money for drugs |
