Probably it makes the a bomb scene in T2 look like an episode of blue Peter.

It is absolutely chilling in some places. Like when she's walking through the damage after the blast.

"Was that the one CND used to show?"

Was it "When The Wind Blows"?

"The Day After"?

Titz Towers, North Notts

It's scarier than any horror film ever made.

Far darker/grittier than The Day After.

Definitely worth a watch.

I wasn't traumatised by it as a kid, we lived not far away from Burtonwood airbase. So we knew if that got hit, we would need sun block 2000000 or have a real shitty day.

Just around the corner

It was pretty disturbing, and even now seems somehow more realistic than some modern movies with way better effects.

We lived not far away and knew that air bases like Finningley were on the target list so we’d probably be vaporised early on if things kicked off.

The one that did traumatise me was when the wind blows.

Picture it , young child at the video rental shop “oh I liked the snowman , this is by the same person, let’s watch that”

It’s terrifying! And boy, I’m sure we came close to that moment more than we know!

Do you realise that's what this thread is actually about...the 1984 film "Threads"

It was very much in the style of The Snowman, wasn't it.

Northampton Somewhere

We were actually shown this at High School, it was very scary. I remember some kids having to leave the room because they were so upset.

Canvey Island

Remember watching threads and how terrifying it was.

The War Game was so much worse though, so much so that the BBC banned it and that was in the 60’s!
