That's too broad a concept to have any meaningful meaning. If taken literally, then the answer is yes in some things and no in others. And what some people answer yes to, others will answer no to.
No matter how much further you break the question down and define with further detail and context, the answer will always be "Yes, but" or "No, but".
Because there are always "exceptions".
And in my experience, inbetween the cracks in the pavement, those exceptions are where the really interesting things happen.

It very much depends on how far you're willing to take it, and how hard you're willing to fight against society and the system to be free.
In that fight however you find freedom isn't so easy and some in cases impossible.
Are you free to do what you want? - Yes, but your freedoms can be revoked (so not really free)
Are we really free? No, we exist at the will of our government.
The only people that are free are the ones that live alone in the wilderness... They are free from society and the government. |

We are limited by our biological content and influenced from before birth, by our environment. This includes the social context and influences. Our brains are probably the biggest factor, limiting the in-the-moment decisions and actions that we take. I think there's a very strong case for not having much free will. So much, if not all, of our behaviour is driven outside of our perception, by our hidden selves |

We're all very much a product of our environments and upbringing. The choices we make are of course heavily biased by those and societal standards to a degree.
But to claim there is no free will at all just seems like shrugging and saying well it's not my fault if I make bad choices. And that's just a shitty approach. |

We do to an extent, but we are constrained by the consequences of our actions. Social, legal, physical.
What’s interesting is : are you really making those choices freely (as you believe), or are things pre-ordained by fate or whatever you choose to believe in? And would this apply to absolutely everything or just the big stuff? |
