As crazy as it sounds, some of the ad's years back were actually funny, like the Carling Black Label ones, also the Hamlet cigars ad with Gregor Fisher were hilarious (remember the photo booth one) but many were a bit cheesy too, with awfully wooden "actors" but these days, they are just irritating, like the Sunlife ads, also the crappy supermarket ones are so false, with happy smiley staff and not a single empty space visible on any shelf, a bit different from the reality of it! |

I'd say the opposite. Like it or hate it, everyone remembers it.
I couldn't name you any other perfume. |

"It's the most wonderful time of the year... On the beach...
Fuck. Off! "
Exactly. If that's the type of obnoxious, entitled family who typically book with "On The Beach", then it's a great warning not to book with them. |

Yeah, there's no cool ads anymore. I remember some adverts were so good you were wishing they'd come on during the break; thinking of Guinness and Nike as examples. |

All ads are annoying
Especially the more recent morbid ones that might as well come straight out and say 'Are you thinking of dying?'
You know the ones.
Guaranteed over 50s plans (by the way, they're a con)
And 'Planned crmeations' etc
Oh, and the other scam - Equity release. Makes my f***ing blood boil those ones.
Yes, having worked hard all your life to own your own property, why not let us lend you a bit of money in return for taking your house away from your descendants when you eventually kick the bucket that you might have been looking to pass on to them after you're gone.
F***ing pirates |

Totally agree and they’ve even got the front to charge you close to £2 grand for the privilege |

"You clever girl"
"And their paying what I asked for"
"Well negotiated"
"Runs in the family!"

Agreed....We Buy Any Carrrghh.
Also those annoying ads on YouTube, sanitary products, life insurance, McDonald's...quite a few really.
Don't even get me started on radio ads. If you talk rapidly to firmt into a paid-for ad space, expect me to ignore your products and services |

All of them. I don't want to see adverts. YouTube is just full if them now and as soon as you pause a video and press play you get between two or three before the video carries in playing. Unless your willing to pay not to watch them. |

Yes, I find this incredibly and increasingly annoying. You used to be able to watch YT videos on a mobile device, which would be uninterrupted by ads...but they're even creeping in on there now.
If you find a YT vid that you like enough to watch regularly, I'd highly recommend an online YT vid downloader (no software installation required). |

Adverts are weird. Watching them is like being on an acid trip.
Did you see last year's advert for Capital One credit cards? The narrator talks about how credit providers don't give you what you ask for without saying what the problem is and how they will fix it.
They show a lady riding a bike along a road by the sea. She stops at an ice cream van, points at a giant ice cream and gets handed a tiny one (exactly not what she asked for, despite the narration). She doesn't pay, she takes one lick, hands it back to an apparently happy ice cream van person, and then cycles off. WTF????!!!
What has that got to do with credit cards? |

All of them - Bill Hicks was right about advertising. It's the devil's work, and anyone who works in advertising is complicit in evil.
I never watch adverts, and always mute the and look away. Insidious evil. |

Tbh I never watch anything live on TV now for this very reason (i.e. advertising).
I record everything and watch it back....saves hours of my precious life every week by not listening to the rubbish |

For me, it's the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume advert. It's the one where there are some girls on the grassy bank near a river saying “Daisy, Daisy, Daisy, Daisy” in an annoying and repetitive way. I have to mute it before I hear them say anything (thanks to the musical interlude that buys me some precious seconds), otherwise the world could end! |

Same here, if I do have to watch something live, the ad break is when I pee, let out the dog, make a cuppa. Haven't seen an ad on TV in years |

Yep, that one always annoyed the fuck out of me too...not sure why advertisers think that irritating us will encourage us to buy their products and services |
