Just as everyone was preparing to tuck into their christmas fayre, a group of determined speleologists were busy discovering Britain's largest (to date) underground cavern beneath the already discovered network of caves found within the Mendip hills.

Though their is more chance of landing on the moon aboard a Virgin rocket than actually getting permission or the co-ordinates to explore Frozen Deep, watch out for the TV programme which hopefully will follow showing the magnificence of the underground formations!

Fascinating.
Been to the caves at Cheddar, and found them a bit too creepy for my liking though.
And no I have not seen the horror films about cavers finding some gruesome inhabitants.

I've seen that film...those underground dwellers have nowt on some of the inbreds round here that live above ground (can choose your friends but not your family) |
