Today I watched
Emily - Brilliant and she’s kind of hot. Gives a really good insight into where Wuthering Heights came from.
Fall - spent most of it hiding behind a blanket feeling sick. Both actresses are fairly hot. Napped & missed the plot twist though.
To Leslie - She’s not hot and I napped 50% but it’s interesting and though provoking.
The immaculate room - napped through it all. I think it was ok though.
That’s my reviews , where’s yours ?

I saw M3gan at the cinema the other day.
I can't say it's a good film, but I was thoroughly entertained, once I'd fought to suspend the disbelief that anyone in AI wouldn't know the basics of every cyberpunk dystopia and the singularity. |

Somewhere off the edge of the map... 'ere there be monsters |
Rewatched the newer Dune movie again on Sky recently. Saw it in cinema originally. I like it quite a lot, but still feel frustration at how condensed it ended up. I know they've split it into 2 films already, but I really feel like you'd either need a LotR length trilogy, or a GoT/HBO style 10-part series to cover the depth and do it proper justice. |

The first one is really good - don’t nap , but the others definitely. To Leslie is good if you’re struggling to sleep |

I think Dune is due a rewatch , i think I napped through some of it. It doesn’t have to be that long, what’s good about this movie is the overall feeling, atmosphere, cinematography, there’s no need to stretch it out any more. |

Men - wanted to love it. Couldn't. Too weird and try hard arthouse. Gave up half way through.
Black Bear - yes. Aubrey Plaza is a goddess and plays the chaotic weirdo to utter perfection. Very enjoyable.
The Menu - yeah I get why some people hate it. I loved it. The fiancé very vocally did not.
The Banshees of Inisherin - Poignant. Shed a tear or two. Demonstrated the complexities of friendships, of relationships effortlessly and so beautiful to watch.

My eldest sat and watched John Carpenters The Thing with me yesterday. It was awesome. The 2011 The Thing is underrated. It’s a prequel not a remake. It ties in so well in, but nothing compared to the 1982 masterpiece. |

Blonde with Ana de Aromas as Marilyn Monroe is very trippy but good.
Blade Runner 2049 is my current favourite, especially if you have good surround sound/Atmos and 4K TV/screen
Banshees of Inisherin is just okay but Banshee the TV series is much better |

A horror film called ..Smile.

So I liked the film. Worth a look. |

Watched the Knives Out movies which were ok.
We have been on a bit of a 90s movie binge lately. Broken Arrow, The Rock and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. They don’t make movies like they used to. Which is a shame. Kindergarten Cop is next. Arnie baby!
Cocaine Bear looks pretty awesome though. |

"Devotion was good.
"
Yes, brilliant film. But i think it was 30-45mins too long.
But the story is brilliant.
And i didnt realise that a lot of the profits from the film are going towards hopefully repatriating Jesse Browns body. |

I watched it without my glasses on the first time, I had no idea there were two lead characters , I was so confused. They do look a little similar right? At the end when they meet I was even more confused and thought I was trippin |

I saw the ‘Pale Blue Eye’ last night . Christian Bales new film.
I liked it. The setting of the film is very picturesque. It’s quite long at 2h10.
But if you like period thrillers with an ending twist you could do a lot worse that watch this.
For me the young actor playing Poe steals the show whilst Bale is also very very good. |

Watched About Time. Not hugely into Romantic comedy but I love this one.
Iy dosnt get mawkish, dosnt take itself too seriously and all the characters are likeable.
Another one that's good is
The Art of Driving in the Rain.
About a racing driver and his dog Enzo and their journey through life.
Funny and sad but in a nice way and again not too Mawkish.
A must see Movie is Mosul Was actually filmed in Mosul using Iraq actors and local language which give its a realism I have never seen in a war movie before or since and gives a real invite to what was happening and still is in that region. |

So last night i saw ‘the infinity pool’ with Alexander Skarsgard. It gets 83% on rotten tomatoes.
It’s certainly a bit different. I can see how a lot of people would really like it.
I’m not sure if I did !

You should check out a short film called 'Laura hasn't slept' it's made by the director and stars the same actress as smile, it's what the director based the movie on. |
