When you have people you've never spoken to quote parts of your profile on the forums in negative terms it removes that option for them.
Or people who can't message due to age filters contact your visible veries as a go between to get you to message them.
Or when someone names you in their status with suggestions for new pic ideas it all gets a bit creepy and blocking prevents that. |

Some people do just that though. Happens to the ladies much more often but plenty of times they have had to say "keep it to the forum" after somebody takes the discussion to private. It simply removes that opportunity especially with those that they want zero contact with.
Happens to men also.
If that gives me an ego, then so be it. |

Having checked, I'm not even sure why I've blocked half of the people on my list
