So, with the decision to ban the song 'Delilah' being sung at the Principality Stadium, due to the lyrics being about a man murdering his partner....using the same logic, what other songs need banning??

Ooh I don't know about this one actually. Don't want to be all 'woke' ( ) but I've grown up somewhere where people mindlessly sing horrific songs at sports games and it does actually taint real life. I wouldn't have put Tom Jones in that category to be fair!

This would be the perfect time to comply and have the last laugh.

Thanks to Space and Cerys Mathews, we have the wonderful-pantomime-villians of songs "The ballad of Tom Jones".

(It would be funny to see this one climbing to the top of the charts).

Give this one an airing and us non-Welsh can belt out at full volume at the tournament "and I don't come from Wales"

What did I do wrong?

Oh you nearly drove me cuckoo

Am I really all that bad?

You're worse than Hannibal Lecter, Charlie Manson, Freddie Krueger

Why are we still together?

Oh I can't leave until you're dead

You mean 'Til Death Do Us Part'?

I mean like cyanide, strangulation or an axe through your head

It was lucky for us I turned the radio on

They say that music soothes the savage beast

There was something in that voice that stopped us seeing red

The two of us would surely have ended up dead

You stopped us from killing each other

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

You'll never know but you saved our lives

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

I could never throw my knickers at you

And I don't come from Wales

So haven't solved our problems

You mean we hate each others guts

I still wanna poison your pizza

And I still wanna cut off your nuts

I phoned the marriage guidance

I tied the phone line round your neck

I'm sick of all this hatred

Well that will be the arsenic making you sick

You were about to drive me over the edge of a cliff

As I tried to jump out I knocked the stereo on

You changed your mind and then slammed on the brakes

It was lucky for us we bought his greatest hits

You stopped us from killing each other

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

You'll never know but you saved our lives

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

I could never throw my knickers at you

And I don't come from Wales

And now the war is over

I've lost the urge to break your neck

I owe my life to 'What's New Pussycat'

Delilah stopped me hating you and wishing you dead

Oh I used to call you Satan

And you were Cruella de Vil

And now you call me your Delilah

And I am not your Lucifer

And I am just your pussycat

But just a word of warning now

Just in case we ever get tired of his voice

I know the Mafia, Godzilla, King Kong

And I know an atom bomb that's going for a song

You stopped us from killing each other

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

You'll never know but you saved our lives

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

I could never throw my knickers at you

And I don't come from Wales

You stopped us from killing each other

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

You'll never know but you saved our lives

Tom Jones, Tom Jones

I could never throw my knickers at you

And I don't come from Wales

"Isn't the real purpose to raise awareness of domestic abuse? Ie, get people talking? "

Suzanne Vega did a better job, he would have done a better job quoting her song lyrics. This would improve public relations and encourage people to keep an eye out, for the subtle clues.

Luka.

My name is Luka

I live on the second floor

I live upstairs from you

Yes I think you've seen me before

If you hear something late at night

Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight

Just don't ask me what it was

Just don't ask me what it was

Just don't ask me what it was

I think it's because I'm clumsy

I try not to talk too loud

Maybe it's because I'm crazy

I try not to act too proud

They only hit until you cry

And after that you don't ask why

You just don't argue anymore

You just don't argue anymore

You just don't argue anymore

Yes I think I'm okay

I walked into the door again

If you ask that's what I'll say

And it's not your business anyway

I guess I'd like to be alone

With nothing broken, nothing thrown

Just don't ask me how I am

Just don't ask me how I am

Just don't ask me how I am

My name is Luka

I live on the second floor

I live upstairs from you

Yes I think you've seen me before

If you hear something late at night

Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight

Just don't ask me what it was

Just don't ask me what it was

Just don't ask me what it was

They only hit until you cry

And after that you don't ask why

You just don't argue anymore

You just don't argue anymore

You just don't argue anymore

I'm not sure it should be banned, but might be a good idea to ditch such a shite song.

Opening line - "And did those feet..." - No, no, they didn't.

The song is rooted in British exceptionalism and the idea that Jesus came to our shores (a view genuinely held by William Blake and 'British Israelites'). The point of the sing is that England is/will/can be the New Jerusalem apparently foretold in the Bible.

Here enth the lesson :

Nothing like jumping to assumptions, is there.

Actually i knew exactly the meaning of the song. It was in the news at the time. And i remember the video with the twist at the end.

Oh, and apparently Bob Marley didnt really shoot the sheriff...just before you try and educate me even more.

Who Says it was amend at you anyway, So who jumped in there as your thread was false information anyway and mis-singforming people

""Smack My Bitch Up - The Prodigy"

You truly dont understand or have never watch or know the real meaning behind "Smack my bitch up" do you, Your just going off the name arnt you,

Right heres goes "ITS FROM A WOMANS POINT OF VIEW" She is the one doing the hitting, womanising and getting plastered and acting all obnoxious to the guys and woman as she is bi sexual, and the end bit she looks in the mirrow sat on the bed,

Then that is were the twist comes in it is a "WOMAN" who's been all vionlent and obnoxious in the pubs and clubs, you have been looking at the world throw a woman's eyes !

And if you look who it is in the video, its old porn star Theresa May from the 90's !

Here enth the lesson :

Well, analyse this.

Im the only poster who put "Smack My Bitch Up - The Prodigy". No one else mentioned it.

So, its a safe and logical assumption it was aimed at me. Does that make sense??

My thread was actually light-hearted. And not totally misleading. It has been banned in the Principality Stadium, for the choirs to sing pre match.

I dont think that's too 'mis-singforming', is it??

I don't like Mondays - The Boomtown Rats. About a school shooting in the late seventies.

I wish someone could find a reason to ban Sweet Caroline

“Bang, bang, Maxwell's silver hammer

Came down upon her head

Bang, bang, Maxwell's silver hammer

Made sure that she was dead”"

Ghislene perhaps?

"We will be banning Jerusalem Next lmao

I will not cease from mental fight,

Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand

Till we have built Jerusalem

In England's green and pleasant land.

The point of the sing is that England is/will/can be the New Jerusalem apparently foretold in the Bible."

Without Jerusalem, there would be no Supper's Ready..."to lead them to the, New Jerusalem"

"Isn't the real purpose to raise awareness of domestic abuse? Ie, get people talking?

Suzanne Vega did a better job, he would have done a better job quoting her song lyrics. This would improve public relations and encourage people to keep an eye out, for the subtle clues.

Luka.

My name is Luka

I live on the second floor

I live upstairs from you

Yes I think you've seen me before

If you hear something late at night

Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight

Just don't ask me what it was

Just don't ask me what it was...

"

Agreed. I can't find a reference but thought I'd seen she won't perform "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" anymore.

Then, I couldn't quickly see it

the thread, there's Boomtown Rats' "I Don't Like Mondays" based on actual shootings

Yes, so was probably why I couldn't find a reference. Been a long week. That's my excuse anyway
