Pictures and video of Kate smiling after being wolf whistled. Do some women see this as a compliment or a threat...

It's all over the news

I see it as an uncalled for action. It hasn't happened to me for many years though

She was smiling long before the whistle came. But…..it must be a slow news day on Fleet Street, gotta fill those column inches somehow.

Who wolf whistles these days anyway? I thought that was lost in the 80’s.

Another reason I totally ignore mainstream media. Full of inconsequential crap.

The poor woman has to smile under the most trying of circumstances.

I expect the whistler is in the tower and a French swordsman is sharpening his weapon as we speak

Would be a sad world if we couldn't have some lighter news (or inconsequential crap) on occasion.

I,d hate to be so aloof I thought otherwise.

This. All about showing appreciation in a fun way, no more no less. Always makes me smile, the whistler smiles back - then we got on with our day

Wjat was she going to do other than smile? That's literally her job, smile, be gracious, don't say or do anything controversial.

It's not even clear that she knew the whistle was at her, that she heard it or that's what she was smiling about. I bet she got in the car, leaned back, took her shoes off and said

"What an idiot"

It's definitely not flattering, but I wouldn't find it threatening anymore like I would have as a teenager. It just makes me massively cringe for whoever is behaving like that in this day and age

My gay lady friend wolf whistles ladies and then points at me with disgust when they turn around.

Sometimes we all laugh, sometimes I end up having to apologise for something I havent done and on one occasion we all went for a drink together.

Would you consider it *hate* if you were whistled at, out of interest?

Maybe don't wolf whistle women would be the winning move, in thst basis that they are far more likely ti be offended than complimented?

It's amazing how men decide what is and isn't threatened to women?

Is the fact some women find it uncomfortable not enough of a reason to not di something?
