They are very good value, lovely food (and loads of it!). Always a pleasant atmosphere in there too

They are excellent value. Selection of meats which are always well cooked and you can eat till you burst!

I always have all my first socials with people from Fab in a Toby Carvery and it’s never failed to impress…

Like all food chains, I think the quality depends on the chef.

I’ve had some awesome food in one location, but I’ve also had some atrocious food in another. They try to remain consistent but it doesn’t always pan out.

I had a 'team breakfast ' at a Toby carvery once. There was an awful lot of food for a reasonable price.

I suppose they're edible if there's nowhere else to go...apart from the macaroni cheese, WTF is that all about?

I've had much nicer carveries elsewhere though.

I had very nice breakfast Yorkshire pudding at one toby carvery then went to another one to find they changed the recipe of Yorkie . What's people's experience of this? The one i liked was soft and flat looking

It's so terribly English... Substandard food in a faux rustique setting, where the only selling point is that there's a lot of it. Problem is when it's a lot of steamed turkey, sad little veg, and sticky floors.

Thank goodness for restaurants like this in the current times. Giving employment and an opportunity for people to have a meal out without breaking the bank

I am not a fan. Poor quality food. I can’t eat large portions so I don’t save money because they charge for an adult meal even though I eat less than many children.

They are apparently awful employers too.

Love a Carvery… especially when the lamb is cooked to perfection

Can’t be dealing with the roasties though, they’re soggy and have no crisp about them

Same group of companies. I think ours arrived maybe 5 or 6 years ago... Steak house, so can charge more!

It would be swiftly returned with a request for proper etiquette if they tried that with me!

It tasted better during covid when the staff would put it on the plate for me.

It doesn't taste the same when I slop it on.

I went to one recently and mistook leeks for cabbage.

They cook a better roast than me so I'm not complaining, for the price.

I'm not a fan of a roast dinner cooked en masse. The meats ok, but the veg tends to be ruined and the gravy is bland. I prefer to cook my own, and I'll spend a lot of time and effort on it.

Christmas do's are a bit like that too. I don't want a turkey dinner at home never mind a substandard overpriced one.

I tend to go for something else on the menu that might just get cooked to order, even the veggie option!
