Hello to all you lovely people. As a singleton of a certain age do you find booking a table for one and going to a restaurant and eating alone intimidating when all your friends are busy.

I feel I get looked at and felt sorry for.

Whats your opinions xx

Carlisle usually

Take a book and some headphones. Zone out from what other people think for a while.

You could always pretend you’re in town for work. I know the feeling you mean, but I’ve usually only had that when dining alone as part of work travel

This…. Order a bottle of wine/fizz and ignore everyone else. We are often with our kids (fighting, shouting, moaning, whining) and would love to have an hour of solitude to enjoy the meal.

I have to do it quite a bit when travelling for work… never quite felt comfortable with it. Do feel looked at, but not many feel sorry enough for me to chat

.

Sometimes it can be a bit But then I think fuck it, I like my own company, I like good food, what's wrong with eating out solo? Nothing at all. You get far fewer looks when you do it abroad, so just pretend you're solo holidaying.
