My younger brother passed away in 2012
On his plot, we put 2 granite pots either side of his stone
This morning I have visited the cemetery (as I do every sunday)
And the pots have gone!
I have spoken to the cemetery manager (who lives on site)
He has informed me that there has been a spate of thefts recently
In particular many children's or babies plots have been tajej from also (Teddy bears, plaques etc)
I am now desperately trying to find 4 identical pots with 4 identical plants to replace them, before my mother visits next week, obviously I don't want to see her upset.
There are some vile scumbags on this earth and I sincerely hope that karma bites them in the arse!!!!

I'm sorry that happened, it doesn't surprise me unfortunately.
I've seen so many things taken from my mum and dad's grave. My siblings do their best to keep it looking vibrant and beautiful, but they are always telling me how things disappear.
I remember one time I filled a glass jar with seashells and sentimental local trinkets from where my dad was born and the next day they were gone. Worthless to anyone else, but something meaningful I put a lot of thought into for my dad's resting place.
Some people are nothing but scum. I hope you manage to find some new pots. Maybe see if there is a way you could anchor then down to make them difficult to remove? It's a faff I know but could be worth doing. |

I wouldn't say it was kids. There use to be people going around my way stealing pots to sell.
Another guy was stealing the aluminium flower holders from inside the pots and selling them for scrap. He was last seen with a sack over his shoulder heading towards the scrap yard. Not long after that he died of natural causes and was buried in the same cemetery.
Sorry to hear what happened OP. I hope you replace them soon. |

Thanks, I'm online right now trying to find replicas "
Would it be easier to have the pots in your garden where they're safe? Maybe say the originals were blown over and broken. |

Sorry to read this OP these people really are the disgusting. It seems that in the living years we work hard to have something nice whether it’s a house , car , holiday and when out times come we can’t even have a vase with some flowers in it. |

On my dad's grave was a rabbit, a calf, milk churn and a solar light. The light and the rabbit was taken. Managed to get a replacement rabbit and light. Mum noticed the rabbit was a bit cleaner than before. So I told her she was ok |

Wtf?!?! People do this?
Damn, you’d think some theiving little fuckwits would have some moral standards. Jeez, they’ll sink as low as they can won’t they?
Sorry op, no advice to give you, but that angers me too. |

Sometimes a little white lie is justified.in this case to your mum.
Remove the others saying one got broken so you are going to redo with some stronger, heavier and cemented down.
You shouldn't need to but sometimes these things unfortunately happen. |

We had a spate of thefts from graves in the town we lived in a few years back.
Mainly children's cuddly toys.
It was only when someone staked out the grave yard that they found the culprits.
It was young foxes. |

Thanks for all your kind words
Thankfully found some the same at my local garden centre. I never realised how expensive they were, and can see why they was targeted (£90 each!)
Just need to get similar plants for them now and hopefully mom won't notice a difference (fingers crossed)
I have taken the advice of an above poster, and decided to have a hole put into the bottom of each and bolt them to the slabs
It is absolutely amazing the lengths that these thieving scumbags will go to.
My sister is scouring social media selling pages to see if she can spot them for sale
Hopefully we catch them, but I'm not holding my breath |
