What's the story with diesel?

Eventually the price of petrol has been slowly dropping..

Now 140 ish... But what excuse do they have for keeping diesel over 170? More than 25p a litre different.?

Is it the petrol companies profiteering? Is it govt policy to encourage diesel cars into the scrap yard and ploughed into landfill?

Im sure its more eco friendly to keep every car currently on the roads. Still on the roads rather than manufacture, distribute and purchase another new one and put the other in landfill.

Tax is the same. Like many countries we don’t have refining capacity to meet the demand so we import , it’s cost more than making it yourself

Along with Diesel being high to encourage us to leave it and move to electric cars I think Shell and BP profits are where the UK pension fund is and thus they can't be hit with a big windfall tax

He was a mediocre wrestler that came to prominence with Shaun Michaels in the early 90s , but went on to have a good career , with nwo and wcw.

He still makes the odd appearance

His real name is Kevin Nash .

What else do you want to know

Diesel is cheaper to refine than petrol and actually and produces less CO2 per mile, BUT also emits harmful particulates. So the government, in their infinite wisdom are strangling diesel use through taxation. It's a moot point whether EVs are less polluting overall.

It's all good for the environment using electric cars, however the cobolt in batteries is mined by sl@ves in the Congo
