I point out the limitations of the nhs fairly often so thought its only fair to point out when it does well.
Took me 9 months for assorted reasons to get an ecg. Imagine my surprise to receive a letter saying Its a walk in clinic between these hours. I walked in to the cardiac physiology ward. There were 3 receptionists waiting to deal with me. I was invited to take a seat, they will be with me shortly. No sooner had I sat down than a friendly nurse came to gather me up and take me to be processed. 2 nurses were sat at desks. Doing paperwork. My nurse wired me up and did me in a matter of minutes and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. No wait, no fuss. Entirely clean and professional. Well done. |

It was an amazing positive experience . The only thing missing was a coffee and croissant. |

Good!
I too have had a recent good experience.
Late March '22 I noticed a change in my eyesight. Early April visited my optician who referred me by email to the hospital. Seen at hospital within a week, further appointments at specialist eye hospital within a month, surgery in July. The optician now sees me every six months or sooner if necessary, all appointment, scans etc free at point of delivery. |
