Anyone else been taking part in this ?

I’ve noticed improvements since doing it regularly the last few months.

I do about 2x 5 mins sessions at home and once a week out in open water for around 10+

More energy, improvements with immune system, quicker recovery from the gym and increased libido.

That’s just what I have found personally

I follow someone on Instagram who has a wooden “plunge” barrel in their garden for when they can’t go open water swimming. I assume it’s the same sort of thing?

I’d like to try open water swimming but too chicken to go it alone or in the cold.

I don't do cold open water swimming as the effects of the faeces etc from water company sewage releases will likely cancer any benefits.

I love wild swimming in the summer, but I’m definitely not brave enough to go in winter

Amazing pics !!

We’ve been lucky to get a few weeks of ice round our way. Managed the sea once which was completely different

Yes for a very long time.

My first & probably the best experience ever was Ladybower resoivoir in the middle of winter, naked for around 5mins.

Afterwards my skin was burning/glowing felt more energised, healthy and alive than I’ve ever felt and the feeling lasted for about 2 weeks.

Instantly addicted since then

I always attract weird looks whenever I go anywhere near cold water. As I like to roll my trousers up and immerse my shins to take the swelling down. I really rate it.

I’m not dipping the rest of me though.

After running ?

Runners don’t need ice baths or ice buckets even, just a shower head turned to cold on your shins for a few minutes after a run has the same benefits for recovery

No I have complications from compartment syndrome surgery so the front of my shins swell like balloons. A little dip helps.
