Gateway to the Beacons

10 days till payday and 2 sleeps for insomniacs, the weather’s grey just like my mood at the moment.

Had a dip last night with the old mental health, had an anxiety attack so sat out in the cold night air doing my breathing exercises, followed with a cold shower. Put some binaural beats on and did a deep meditation. I slept on and off but not proper restful restorative sleep.

I can not put my finger on why maybe post holiday and winter sun blues.

Anyway it’s a new day and a new week full of new opportunities.

Hope everyone has a great week

Take care and be kind x

North Bucks

I got out in the brief sunshine yesterday and chopped up a big pile of wood for next year.

The sense of accomplishment of getting it out the way and the placebo of the sunshine on my skin lifted my mood considerably.

Sorry your mental health has had a dip. As you say new day, new week.

I've found having a grateful notebook helps. I jot down something I'm grateful for at the end of every day. It might be about having my cats for company or that my car started. If I feel low, I look back and it makes me smile.

Your headline was an error and it made me smile. Some January's feel like they are way to long, so I'm grateful there aren't actually that many days.

I actually created and had self published a gratitude journal, I do my journal as part of my daily routine.

Where the flamboyance of flamingos live

I spent the weekend with great friends who reminded me of all the good that have in my life.

I have also started a diary this year and this helps to write down one’s thoughts and reflect on the day.

Well done on recognition of feelings and taking good positive steps to rectify.

An excellent example of choice over resignation of feelings.

We always have a choice to fall over or to take steps to change.

Usually it's just sleep I need when I'm feeling the blues.

But it can also be the reaction of foods, drugs, alcohol.

I just recognise the feeling but don't give into it like the OP.

Good morning beautiful OP. A dip is just that. Temporary. And it will pass. I’m sure of it. For now here’s a song lyric from the genius of David Bowie. Loves ya

We gotta make a change

It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes

Let's change the way we eat

Let's change the way we live

And let's change the way we treat each other

You see, the old way wasn't workin'

So it's on us to do what we gotta do to survive

I only thought it was the 91st of January well that’s how long it’s felt to me, still we woke this morning and that’s surely a win for us all.

Hope the darkness lifts soon OP
