I consume very little so stick to good quality on things like clothes and kitchen equipment but food I’ll get the value range for most things as I cook.
One of my 2023 goals is to spend 15% less and save 15% more. |

"Brand snob?...
In this cost of living crisis?..
Is there something no matter cheaper alternatives you have to have?... "
I am a bit. I am fortunate that my outgoings are pretty low, but I do still shop around. I also try to buy some things at my local village independent shops each week because they're struggling. It's very expensive but I don’t want them to close. |

These are they types of businesses being hit most. High end and luxury brands aren’t affected much but middle premium is always at risk in recessions. As businesses they need to move up or down to survive |

Never been into brands at all mainly because I was earning minimum wage and had other priorities.
I've bought hiking gear from Lidl and decathlon that is much better quality and lasted me much longer than other stuff I've had to save to buy. |

"It’s that bad Poundland are currently selling £1 engagement rings "
I lost both of my rings less than 3 months after getting married. I lose everything so I’m amazed they lasted that long. Never replaced them or wore a ring for the rest of the time I was married.
If I was to ever get engaged again, I’d be made up with a £1 ring as at least they’re cheap to replace |

Not really a brand snob, but I’m fussy with soap powder and softener, mainly because of allergies in the house! Other than that, I don’t really care other than Xmas dinner comes from marks and spencer!

I have a favourite cordial and mayonnaise. That's about it i believe. If I can't have those two I'd rather go without instead of substitute. Not brand faithful as such which makes for easier less fussy life |

People think I’m a brand snob but I’m not I don’t buy much but I buy quality and I make it last , and I never buy if it’s not in the sale, last buy piece was a Barbour gold standard wax jacket it was a lot however I’ll have it for the next 15-20 years

Only when it comes to sex toys and bondage furniture.
But with a latex allergy I can't risk runner content in cheap toys, and as a 6ft amazon I can't risk flimsy equipment causing unwanted injury.
So it's more a safety and wellbeing thing than a poppy snobby thing.
When it comes to clothes and food I'm just on whatever is cheap and does the job. |

Food-wise no, not in the slightest.
The only thing I'll try to get is good quality shoes. I'll buy good ones for myself new. But I buy the kids ones on eBay and try to get Clarke's or a similar good quality brand from there. |

I've started buying Asda essential coffee as it's much cheaper than the branded stuff. Nothing wrong with it as it tastes just as good. I've no doubt that Nescafé probably make it anyway x |

I only buy clothing brands if they are on sale with a big discount. Primark and Decathlon are my friends.
Footwear is where I prefer to pay for quality.
I do make stuff last. I have genuine Dr.Martens which are 42 years old and still going strong so they were a cheap buy.
Food wise its basically coffee where I wont compromise and Heinz beans. Thankfully here in Spain fresh produce is relatively cheap and I grow huge amounts of stuff too. |

Oops, managed to post without quoting...
Ooh, definitely agree with this! Vimto is the best.
Also, Yorkshire tea. Can't cope with any others! |

Worked in two different supermarkets there are fair few items that come from same suppliers so lots of own brands make sense as generally cheaper. However I will only buy Yorkshire Teabags as I do love a strong brew |

What's the significance of products coming from the same factory? Have they not yet figured out how to coordinate separate production lines and product specifications under the one roof? |

I like Heinz soups but the ALDIs own are great too, a fraction of the price with the same great taste as ….. Heinz, because Heinz makes the soup for ALDIs. |

Nope.. no brands household here.
Having worked in various factorys for various products I can safely say there little difference between high end and value range of all supermarkets items bar packaging, sugar and salt (high end normally has shit loads more)..
Keep it simple |

No they don't, if by proper cola you mean it has its own plant in Wakefield, there might be others not sure. Some supermarkets like Aldi manufacture their own and they all taste very different my personal favourite being Pepsi max, Pepsi have 3 manufacturing sites in the UK. |

Embarrassed to admit but yes. Heinz Beans (even more embarrassing)! No other brand will do and to be honest, if the day comes when I can’t afford them. I chucking in the towel and becoming a nomad that lives in a secluded log cabin in the wilderness with my only companion being a husky. Together we reject the rest of the world and live freely away from society lol! Or possible ask for a pay rise depending on which I think of first at the time xx |

With food I'll always try value ranges (how do you know if you don't try?) but sometimes I'd rather do without than buy a much cheaper version because the taste difference is vast.
I can have bargain basement rice crispies but I'd rather have no cereal than own brand corn flakes.
No own brand garlic and herb roule tastes anything like boursin, but I can't taste the difference between Jacobs crackers and own brand ones.
The majority of the time I can't taste any difference, so I will use the value range and save my money for where I notice it. |

No, I buy what I like. Some times it's the branded one - others not.
Home brands are nicer like Lidl's Rosemary thin crackers. Sainsbury's beans - cos in covid bastards were taking the Heinz. Literally.
I've bought tinned veg from a local happy shopper in the past. Nothing wrong with that! |

I stick to what I like, mainly based on quality, not brand as they are not always the best. I do look more in the ingredients and things like, salt, fat, sugar these days than I did previously. Fresh things like fruit and veg, very picky and not content with the tasteless stuff at dome supermarkets. I want my orange juicy and taste and smell as it should be and I also try to cook with fresh ingredients rather than prepared meals as much as I can. I would not pay silly money though if I think something is way over the top |

"I wouldn't say so. I'm quite sensible financially, rather fond of saving and not too fussed. Butter is probably the only thing come to think of it.
What's your go to butter ? Lurpak?"
Ha! No, it's not actually. I find Lurkpak a bit claggy. |

I wouldn't say I was a brand snob because I don't blindly buy them, if there's an alternative that's decent I'll buy that instead.
Cereals don't taste as good so I buy them but get them on offer or Costco, fizzy drinks too. Bread. |

No idea. We buy what we like because we like the flavour/taste/texture.
For decades always used to buy Heinz beans. But tried Branston beans last year and found the difference quite surprising. Less salty. So switched to them now.
Definitely discerning with chocolate however. Avoid Cadbury as much as possible and endure Hotel Chocolate in a pinch. Prefer single estate growers of beans, and small collectives around the world. There are websites where you can order some incredible chocolate you won't find in any shops, and some far surpasses what you might find in a specialist chocolatier. |

The only thing I was adamant about buying brand is ladies products
They have always been expensive though I gotta say.
I've found a way to cut this cost out completely and I'm on depo jab!! So dont need the lady products at all now |
