So, I have a first name and surname (not fab name) which can each be spelled two different ways. It’s mildly irritating having to continually spell both names in full every time I’m giving them verbally. To combat this minor inconvenience, I’m considering changing my names by deed poll.

Let’s leave aside the question of whether I should (although feel free to comment), I’m after suggestions. First and last names that cannot or are highly unlikely to be spelled more than one way.

They need to be male names and appropriate. However, I realise this is a big ask from many of my forum friends so, you are welcome to make inappropriate suggestions too. But only after you’ve done your proper homework!!

TIA all

Aaaaaaaaand GO!

What's your car number plate?

Just change it to that and you'll have a personalised plate without the normal huge expense of buying one.

Your status in the local community will be boosted instantly.

Winner!!!

We automatically spell our surname and people STILL get it wrong. Frequently pharmacists tell me they don't have my prescription until I spell my name for the second time.

My name has to be spelled using the phonetic alphabet (the whole name - first and surname) and still people can't cope!!

My first name is really unusual and I traded one "difficult" surname for another when we got married!

I think I'm the only person in the whole world with my name (first + surname)

Bumping for the daytime crowd.

Above explains all, i'm looking for proper new first and last name (preferably sensible suggestions!).

They need to be male and un-mis-spellable (there's an irony).

Go!!

My nan’s spare room.

I’ll just point you in the direction of the Carry on films.

There’s plenty of crackers there.

Vic Flange or Sid Bogget perhaps.

Manchester (she/her)

I'd look through the popular baby boy names for the last few years, and skip the ones that scream fad. (Boy names tend to be less variable and fashion driven than girl's names)

Some first names are also suitable surnames - so, for example, I know plenty of people with the surname James

Doesn’t mean anything! When picking my username I happened to be listening to the cover of ‘only you’ by the flying pickets and thought “that’ll do”! After a few years of a meaningless username I’m also thinking of changing that.

So, after changing my actual name and my fab username, I just need to change me into an irresistible stud muffin haha

Not myself but if you're a woman with a first name starting with A you'd think twice about marrying a guy with the surname Hole wouldn't you!

Genuinely the name of someone I've had on the phone in a previous job - Mrs A Hole ??
