Not sure about being hoovered, however, mine loves sitting in front of the hair dryer.

Jo, I used to have two Golden Retrievers so had a similar problem to you. The only thing that would get the hair off carpets was a damp towel and 'scrub' the carpets with it. We even went as far as using one of the 'sticky clothes rollers' you can get, but it used up the sticky roll so fast I almost bought shares in the company!!!

ditto, i took up all the carpets and put wood throughout the ground floor..

so much easier to keep clean..

with the state of the weather and 'bathing' ours twice a day there is still muck once they are dry ..

carpets just hold the dirt in..

Yep

We had a boxer and she loved it, every time we got the dyson out she would follow us around till we were finished and then sit or stand right in front of it till she got a quick once over.

But in saying that she was a boxer & had a few screws loose (like most boxer dogs)

Our dog attacks the hoover and the broom as soon as you pick it up.

We have to put him outside when we get the hoover out.

He growls and barks as if he's fending off another dog

Be gentle with her and start at the back of her neck ..... she likes that.

Rub the carpets with a trainer sole, gets the fur 'rolled' up faster than anything I know.

The dogs need a bath to loosen the fur then hand stripping and yes hoover them too

I use rubber gloves to get up the pet hair from carpets, especially on the stairs as I have a habit of falling down them if I use the dyson.

Used to have 2 Akitas and both loved being Dysoned

Have a young Staffy now - not as much hair. Just rub her down with a piece of chamoise leather.
