Errr, it’s the BBC- they’ll either get a retired sports type, someone who was in a band 20 years ago or a reality TV type…or whoever gives the diversity tick box officer the biggest chubby. Either way, the bland MOR compliance will be strong in them |

I was in my 30's when I started listening to radio 2, so I assume they're trying to attract that audience. I'm not sure where it leaves us who are in their 50's and 60's as to what to listen to.
It's a shame as we all grew up listening and watching the BBC, Top of the Pops, Radio 1. Where do we go now?
Greatest hits radio is ok but I can do a 10 minutes commute and not even have listened to any music, which is annoying. |

I still miss Simon Mayo, especially the confessions...I thought it was a great show and really entertaining on the way home. Bringing in a co host and ruining it made me more sad/angry than replacing Steve Wright & now Ken Bruce. |

You can find Simon Mayo, Matt and the team on Greatest Hits Radio weekdays 4pm to 7pm
Confessions, Drivetime Drama and Teacher Feature all there.
Sadly, there are adverts to bear |

He and Terry Wogan got me through some tough mornings when my kids were small and sleep was nil.
I stopped listening a long time ago.
Not the same without them.

"Ken bruce is good, and love popmaster "
I agree, and I am glad he is taking pop master with him.
Jeremy Vine has totally lost the plot, he is supposed to be running a debate show and plays more crap music than debate.
I only tune in now to listen to Ken Bruce, once Ken leaves, I can honestly say i will never listen to Radio 2 again.
I prefer the debate on Radio Scotland, so it will be Ken Bruce on Greatest Hits Radio in the morning and then switching channel to Radio Scotland mid day for News and debate. |

Welcome
You might start noticing the same records going round on rotation and the adverts can get annoying, but basically it's the same banter and the audience keeps increasing.
Greatest Hits Radio also has Jackie Brambles, Pat Sharp, Paul Gambaccini, Andy Crane and Mark Goodier on the books.
Although Ken is replacing Mark...... |

I'd say those running radio 2 don't have a clue but it goes further than that. The whole bbcis in danger of making the service an irrelevance as they've lost what most people want.
If commercial radio stations want the presenters then there is a large audience for the person so dropping the older market seems stupid. There ar more of us and we don't all like classical or radio 4.
2nd big issue is publicising wages. The clever ones use personal companies to avoid the list. The other tied to the bbc have to suffer the stress and pressure of it. It may be out money but the government needs to realise this sort of reporting is flawed.
I've now got a new radio station to find as KB was the best. How long before BH whispers his last on 2 |

I think of it a bit like children's television. Kids grow out of it but it also becomes less relevant to its new audience unless it adapts and changes. I can't imagine what today's 4 year olds would make of The Woodentops |

Still plenty of 50/60/70 & 80 year old that deserve to be accomadated for.

Ah Johnnie Walker one of the original Pirate Radio D.J.s in the mid 1960s on Radio Caroline.Listend to him then and still listen to him now.
Apart from his R2 Sunday Sounds of the Seventies he also hosts R2 Rock Show on Saturday evenings 8pm to 9pm.

It is possible!
A dung beetle can polish one off, if it's really hungry, or the poo is really small!
Coprolite is fossilised dinosaur poo, so this and other stone this can be polished/varnished and buffed to a glossy finish. |
