The funniest opening line we heard was at the comedy club on Broad Street. He said "I've been married 17 years. I got married because I got bored of finishing my own sentences". He won the crowd with that. Personally we love Husband and Wife jokes and stories (both ways) from any comedian's we see. Good luck  |

On Facebook there is the Admin Writing Encouragement group, which is mostly prompts for people writing material.
I don't know what your style is, but you're generally better at finding the funny yourself.
What have you seen in your life that you think is interesting and can be mined for the funny?  |

Oh I've seen a fair bit but its always good to seek other inspiration aswell, don't forget most pro's have paid writers to come up with half of their acts for them |

I'm not going to pry about where your gig is, as you deserve privacy. However, if you're looking for stage time in the West Mids and aren't sure about it, contact the Hollybush in Cradley Heath. That runs every Thursday night and is a great way to get to know people in the scene. |

Yes my work seems to be one big joke aswell, I think we all know the struggles of work aswell so most should be able to relate |
