How late is late for work? One of my mates at work was late 7 times in 10 days. I goes to her 'I'm travelling from Manchester to Rochdale for 05:30 to be at work, you don't start till 08:00 AND you're only in Middleton. Just a few miles away? I mean seriously what can a girl do in the morning that she is late for work 7 days out of 10 in her first week of starting a new job. I don't know was she having some fun time in bed and it got a bit late(cause that's the only rational reason I could have)? I wasn't late for work once, and I was there for 5:30 in the morning.

Yes okay girls have to put on make up and do their hair and that's it.

7 out of 10 times in the first week? I’m guessing she’ll not be getting taken on after her trial period!

Late 7 days out of 10... in her first week.

The math doesn't add up here

In 10 days she was late 7 times. Or 5 days she was late over 1 week and 2 days in the second week.

If she worked the weekends then yes that would count as the first week. But she doesn't work weekends. I do and I asked her but she is on salary so she doesn't need to. So she only works Monday to Friday.

No one can be late that often, surely, and still keep their job.

Does your job have a hard start time or just core hours? I can start anywhere between 8am and 9:30am because of flexi-time and maybe your colleague could be taking advantage of that?

Glad that's clearer now
