I didnt start driving for many many years so yes but id hate every second now i do its like the internet i never got that until my 30s the eithdrawals would be torture now |

I don’t have a car….I occasionally rent and oh my days it’s so much fun and handy! But where I live and with how convenient everything kind of it, it wouldn’t be worth it….maybe if I won the lottery  |

Me too, but also use the bike a lot..it's great release not to have one |

No, not round here. Where I grew up I never had the need to drive, public transport was more than sufficient. Moved to Wales (not city based) and everything is so much more difficult without a car. |

I ride a motorbike a lot, so I think I could live without a car. But I love going to Clubs and weekends away, not always practical on a motorbike, especially as living in the country with no public transport. |

I didn't start driving until I was in my 30's but I lived in London and never really needed too.
I'm glad I did learn as I wouldn't be able to live where I do now without a car.
I love the freedom a car gives you also. |

Quite honesty I could not live without it, I’m a lad that lives quite rural in Northern Ireland, over here there’s a kind of car culture amongst lots of Young adults over here. I’ve spent the guts of ten grand modifying and getting my car to sit how I like it and taking it to shows/meets. As someone thats had mental health problems the only thing that I had to concentrate on was my car and honeslty I wouldent be here today with out it, I know some people are going to look at that and think “what a saddo” but hey it’s just how I feel |

Sold mine in November and haven't replaced it yet but plan to before summer. I only spend 50% in the uk , busses are awful but walking is good for up to 30mins then Ubers or friends kick in.
For longer journeys train and Ubers either end works okay and often faster.
Online food shopping helps and I do less frequent unnecessary trips now.
It’s ok a little bit more time consuming & additional planning needed but doesn’t stop me doing anything.

As a child we didn’t have a car. Twenty two before I had one.
Love cars but never lost my past and walk for miles with my wife and remember the days of corner shops. |

Having been in cities in the past, I managed without one as the public transport was great. To get around London is a breeze.
However, I moved to Cornwall many years ago, and the public transport just isn't adequate for my needs. They're trying & is better than it used to be, but everywhere is so spread out that it feels like a "mystery coach trip". Much simpler and far more time efficient getting from a-b with the car. I may pick up a motorbike again as well at some point. |

I have a few friends who live in Billericay or Chelmsford and commute to the city for work by train. Some in their late 40's now. None drive. Never had the need to. So yes, it can be done if you live in a place with decent public transport. |

No, couldn't work, commute, get to my home, family etc
I'd have to change pretty much everything I do to work round not having a car and it would cost me massively more than running the cars |

i would rather have one. only been driving a few years, but the difference was obvious. now, having sold my car several months back, i am reminded how much they are useful. bad bus service. rain, snow and wind. needing a lot more time to walk places that can be a few minutes by car. its a very useful tool. |

I was brought up on the road. For me a car is freedom. Its that freedom to just get in a car and go anywhere I want, when I want. I know that sounds selfish but it's a freedom I would keep at all cost. |

Now I’m working from home, my car sits on the drive most of the week. The van is essential.
Yes, I could do without it for the practical stuff and there’s no way I’m going for a night out in the van  |

I could but it would be a struggle  . Trains I have no issues but buses! Oh hell no. Last time I sat opposite an old lady who started at me for 35mins grinning & rubbing her thigh! She looked like an old witch you'll see in a Hansel & Gretel horror movie  . Wasn't sure if she was horny or hungry to have me in a stew  |
