We have a 9 week old chocolate lab puppy. It’s like having a baby to look
After. The sleepless nights and its constant need for attention are making us both feel pretty knackered and as a result I feel every day of my 40 something years right now! |

Mind still feels 20
But the 61 year old body has a job keeping up.
I train as hard in the gym now as I ever have, but need 2 paracetamol and ibuprofen after to handle the post workout pain.
Sex wise it's alot more unpredictable but today's meds make it a sure thing.
I get random pains everywhere for no reason, have to think about jumping down from anything to save arthritic knees.
Age is a weird thing, but better than the alternative (at the moment)
It's quality not quantity.

I think more about running away now than I did as a kid. But by the time I've put my teeth in, tied my shoe laces and found my keys n glasses, I've forgotten where I was going. |

I don’t feel old when I’m with my friends but when my children called me daddy I was proud now my grandchildren call me Pops I am starting to feel I should behave myself and act my age . As for sex cuming three times in quarter of an hour is long forgotten , I manage it once but I last for 3/ quarters of an hour So some things to improve with age |

Neither mentally nor physically although when I wake up without something hurting I worry I died in my sleep
I am 60. Apparently.
I know gender reassignment is a thing, but can they do anything for a young mind trapped in an old body?
At the moment, everything still works, but you know, wear and tear. |

Nope don't feel my age. Or look it I think. Just turned 50, one of the girls at work. 17 year old was floored when she found out I was 50. She didn't belive me when I said I had 4 kids too.
I feel in my early 30's. Plus now I've lost 2 stone, don't look like I've had 4 kids. - my opinion. |

Today I feel ancient. A combination of a forum friend passing away and problems with my job - which as a single parent I rely on to feed my kids.
Usually I’m very happy and positive and think I’m around 30 - today I’m 92 and I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. |

"I dont. I am 40 and I feel like I am still 15, peter pan forever "
In my head, I am still capable of doing everything I could do when I was in my 20’s, my body however tells a while different story |

Yep, and I personally think it's a positive thing. Why would I want to have the same mindset etc as I did in my early 20's? I've grown a lot as a person since then.
And I can keep up (just about) with those 20 years younger than me in dance class. I look and feel like someone who has lived a life. Preoccupation with youth is a strange thing to me, but that maybe because I'm happier now than I was then.

Agree with this. We are the age we are, for better or worse, so why not embrace that rather than try to be something we are not. |

You are only as young as you feel right?
I suppose that’s why so many profiles have them knocking years off
I started to feel a little older when I wake up with a sports injury but I didn’t do any sports. |

I only started feeling my age in my 50s,,,,,,,, Ohhhh and I hit 50 during the 1st covid lock down, when I lived on my own with no pet. This caused havoc on my mental health and made me feel very old. I am getting better but I still feel like an old man with no oomph |

"Yes and no. I usually live by the idea that you are what age you make yourself. I know people my age who seem so much older than I do."
Some of us want to remain young at heart but due to failing body parts, can't help but actually feel ancient and often look like it too. It's hard to not look broken when you're scooting round by wheelchair |

"Just turned fifty and more than happy about that. My life is so much better in every way than when I was in my twenties, thirties and forties "
I can only agree. Most of my 20s wasn't great, 30s was kids growing up and not that much money, my 40s have been pretty good despite Covid and early menopause. I'm genuinely looking forward to my 50s.

In my head no, not at all but the body? Well that got broken several times many years ago so arthritis has reared it’s ugly head quite a bit in the last year or so.
H being younger & our youngest child only being eleven keeps me feeling young & helps me ignore the aches & pains though.
Roll on retirement!

I’m only 29 but feel 40… constantly tired, want to do wild things to reclaim youth, seeing younger people say the shit I liked is ‘old’ and ‘what is that?’… I hate it |

Feel like things happened 20 years ago were just yesterday so in that way yes
But getting up off the cooch after a day at graft and walking like a crab reminds me I am old haha |

"Absolutely not! I’m 57 years old and been super active my whole life. I don’t like to just sit still and do nothing. I love staying fit and I love to learn and study new things."
It's possible to be active and as fit as you can be, but feel/look ancient.
It frustrates me that there's implicit "if you'd just been more active" under pinning some of the comments.
Being super active and sporty didn't stop me becoming disabled at the age of 31. I feel very old nowadays, but I play wheelchair sports, I go to the gym, I work FT etc. |

Physically? Probably.. what is 40 supposed to feel like? Everyone's different!
Mentally? Big fat fucking NOPE
The older we get, the fewer fucks we give.
Still winging this thing called life - we're just making it up as we go along? |
