Are you being left behind or dose your employer pay all the same wage.

I don't think ladies work but we women have been getting equal pay for equal work since 1975.

Some jobs can get round it but there has to be a reason

I get paid less than my male coworker. But he has various qualifications and a wealth of experience, while I basically wandered in without either a couple of years ago.

Everyone in my company is paid the same per hour, regardless of role or gender.

It would be even nicer, however, if we were all able to retire and claim our pensions at the same age.

"I get paid less than my male coworker. But he has various qualifications and a wealth of experience, while I basically wandered in without either a couple of years ago."

That's fair enough so long as you pay gose up as you learn and train.

If you do exactly the same work and hold the same responsibility you should be receiving the same pay

I had pay grades and then increases at appraisals so we probably were on different salaries. Starting salaries would probably be similar now.

But in my department, everyone is paid the same depending on their band

I have never worked in a job where women are paid less than men for the same role. In some, quite the opposite, as they got stocking allowances and suchlike.

Where I work wages are based on role, qualifications for the job.

Gender is not at all relevant and there's several women in very senior positions.

We have different responsibilities and do different sides of the work. My company are great and give me raises and bonuses regularly.

I get paid less because I have less qualifications and experience, but my work is appreciated and rewarded in a manner I consider fit.

Thats not how it works in lots of industries, usually there is a pay band for jobs and where you are in the band depends on experience (but really its negotiation ability when starting the job)

I know that I'm the highest paid in my team. I negotiated hardest when I joined the company because I love the game of negotiating. From that point of view there is equal pay opportunity within the band for a particular grade.

There is a gender pay gap in my organisation because it's incredibly difficult for a woman to reach one of the most senior positions - it's very much an old boy network once you reach the highest exec grades.
