Do you know which Gen you belong to?

Is it really relevant?

Which Gen is the coolest?

Are you proud of your Gen.

Me, I never really gave it a thought until the other day and I certainly wouldn't wear it as a badge..the other day someone scoffed at another Gen and basically said....watch out I'm Gen Z.... you should fear me!

I'm a millennial.

Is it relevant? Only if I'm playing into a gentle trope and making fun of myself (hi PSL drinkers).

Am I proud of us? Yeah, course I am. We're pretty much a homogeneous blob living on pretentious lexicon, drinking soy lattes and bemoaning the fact we can't buy a house* while eating avo toast daily and having a weird love of Greek mythology, talking about yoga and Haribo.

*except for those whose mummy/daddy set up with a trust fund.

Not a clue.

I’ve been listening to a lot of alternative 90s music lately. Mostly indie stuff. Some dance.

It makes me smile a lot.

As a 15 year old in 1995 I think that year and the two or three either side were by far the happiest.

Music transported me back there.

Relevancy to your thread… probably none!

Oh well.

Thanks for reading

I don't think it should matter at all.

I'm not sure when the naming of generations started but in recent years it seems to have enabled age groups to bracket themselves and restrict social interactions.

I'm a millennial and Eros is a Gen X apparently. Means I know what year were both born in, that's it.

Generation X was such a great novel we named a whole marketing demographic after it. Ironic, given the fucking point of the book.

Yeah, I’m Gen X too. We whine a lot.

We're boomers. We can't help it so we're not proud of it really but we're not ashamed either.

I don't like this trend of being rude about people just because of when they were born or generalising about characteristics based on date of birth
