When it comes to treating yourself do you just make your own cup of tea or coffee or do you treat yourself and go to Starbucks or Costa? Or any other coffee place |

Prefer Costa over those 2. Pret do a nicer coffee but they don’t do larger cups.
Quite like doing my own now with working from home…coffee press/pot on the stove, milk frother and it looks just like a coffee shop coffee.

Make my own.
Unfortunately at work that's not always possible.
So when out and about, especially if the person im posted with for the day wants a coffee, i make them go to a local non-chain coffee shop.
Id rather support a struggling local business than one of those awful large chains. |

I bought a nespresso machine in a black Friday deal a few years ago. I thought it would be a bit of a gimmick that I'd use a couple fmof times and that would be it.
Got to say I love it, have one every morning. The amount of money I've saved not buying takeaway is brilliant.
When I do get a takeaway now, I find the quality varies wildly. A lot of them seem to burn the milk for a latte and leaves it really bitter.
I got a independent coffee shops of Scotland book for Xmas. I'm going to start making my way through that. |

Best coffee I've had is a little independent cafe in Durham. It's right on the river bank with spectacular views, love sitting there watching the world go by |

Not even when I was working did I enjoy parting with money for a coffee in coffee shops .....
Such a waste of my money and never to my taste.
I went into Costa by me the other day to use the loo and I thought ahhhh I'll treat myself to a drink and a read. Took one look at the prices and went.
I can't justify spending a tenner each time I want a coffee and a biscuit. |

I have an Italian espresso machine and a proper coffee grinder so I can make my own whenever I want for about 20p each. So only use coffee shops when out and about (ideally independents like Fig & Sparrow and never Starbucks which is the spawn of the evil one).
Fancy one? |

I prefer to make my own but I like to sit in a coffee shop and they tend to see their arse if you turn up with a flask.
I go to Starbucks for convenience - it's open when I need it and there's a drive-through right on the doorstep of my office on the days I'm on site at work. There's a local coffee shop that does much nicer coffee but is only open 10-4 so its rare that I manage to get there when it's open. |

I rarely drink caffeinated drinks nowadays. But I love Caffé Nero for the mochas. Costa for their blended fruit drinks. Starbucks for their delightful PSL.
There was a wonderful coffee shop not too far from me, loved the owners. Amazing fresh cake. Good coffee. Red velvet cake and a mocha for less than £6? Brilliant. Sadly they went into the wedding cake business full time.

"Try to support independents rather than the chains. If its a chain i much prefer Nero, Costa rather than Starbucks though"
You have such good choices down there though! There's one I always try and visit if seeing old friends/family. Think we've probably discussed it before. |

Oh yes, and I do miss working next door to one! Though my bank balance definitely appreciates it! |

Company I work for give us Costa gift cards all the time , that's the only reason I go there , otherwise you have to take out a 2nd mortgage for a flat white |
