I watched an excerpt from a lecture being given by a forensic pathologist (gotta love Facebook when you can't sleep!)
Apparently, 40% of found bodies that are discovered by dogs out on walks with their owners!!
She also explained that if DNA is gathered from both parents for an identity check, they never run the father's sample, just in case it causes additional emotional trauma by finding out he isn't the Dad!!
Amazing what you can learn at 2am when you're scrolling through stuff!!
Does anyone else have any interesting random facts?? |

All fossils of the Spinosaurus (one of the largest carnivores ever to walk the earth) were destroyed during WW2, all we know of it today are from drawings/photos and records we kept.
Quasars are among the brightest known things in the universe. They form when a black hole begins sucking in the solar energy of nearby stars... the solar energy of the star swirls around the black hole at unfathomable speeds creating something called an accretion disc.
The shortest measurable distance we have is known as the Planck distance.
We can quantify amounts of infinity, we refer to an amount of infinity as Aleph Null, which is I think is the first character in the Hebrew alphabet. |

Microsofts first product (Basic programming language) was pirated and distributed for free. This caused Bill Gates and Paul Allen to nearly give up before the company had even got off the ground. Fortunately this very action of copying caused Basic to be distributed far and wide. Microsoft then got more (legit) business from these "customers" and the rest is history. |
