Championship Manager black hole
Jump to: Newest in thread
Blackburn have just announced the dismissal of Henning Berg. Fifty seven days, eleven games and one win after replacing Steve Kean when the club were third in the table. Now the talk is of Mark Hughes returning. Yesterday Sean O'Driscoll was dismissed at Nottingham Forest after twenty four league matches in charge. |

blackburn got what they deserve.
although they went down Kean had them in the playoff position and near the top when he resigned.
the treatment that man got was disgraceful, vile and will have long term consequences for the man.
I went to a game with a mate who works for sky and the abuse, chanting was beyond the pale.
how the man took it for so long i just dont know as the atmosphere in and around the ground was sheer terror.
and now look. the club have conceeded nearly the same amount of goals as they did in the premier league last season and its just past boxing day.
they get what they deserve. |

"and now look. the club have conceeded nearly the same amount of goals as they did in the premier league last season and its just past boxing day." One thing you can't argue with are statistics which are fact not opinion. In the Premier League 2011-2012 Blackburn conceded 78 goals in 38 games. So far in the Championship 2012-2013 after 24 games they have conceded 32 goals. So clearly your argument doesn't stack up. |

This a getting like a (not so) merry go round. Michael Appleton has left Blackpool to join Blackburn after 12 games in charge. So...Blackburn are now on their 4th manager this season are Blackpool looking for their 3rd. |

They should make it so managers and maybe even players should sign a contract that has a minimum length.
For example the new guy at Blackburn has a guaranteed job for say 1 year or enough time for him to put his stamp on things. If it doesn't work after that then sack.
Im not a huge football fan but its shocking the way that teams treat a manager and expect the next guy to automatically start winning with the same group of players who have lost all season |

Here we go again. Alex McLeish and Nottingham Forest part company by 'mutual consent'. McLeish was appointed on 28th December last year - (so barely 6 weeks in charge) after the dismissal of Sean O'Driscoll. The reason appears to be a dispute between the owners and the manager regarding the transfer budget. George Boyd of Peterborough (a target of McLeish) passed his medical but was turned down by the owners on the grounds of '20-20 vision'. |

"Isn't the notts county job open? He went from blues to villa so he wouldn't think twice."
If he waits until the end of the week the Blackburn job will probably come up again. |

Can this season get any more bizarre for Blackburn.
Just announced they have sacked Michael Appleton after 67 days in charge.
This was their 5th manager this season and they are on the brink of the relegation zone.
Priceless....... |

They are just one of many deluded clubs, who think they should be in the Prem always. Winning it all those years ago doesn't help their fans mentality either, they are fast becoming a laughing stock. |

6 in a row, season looking a whole lot brighter with the right man back in charge.
You think Derby would have learned training managers up for their bigger more successful rivals.
Leicester you're no rivals of ours. The pies are more of interest than you lot |

But lost the last home match which would have ensured the playoffs....only taking five points from last six games. Granted he do well when he arrived. |
