Did you know that every 3 metre square of the world has been given a unique combination of 3 words. It's used for all sorts to find addresses including emergency services. You can look it up online or using an app.
I looked mine up, and I have more than one square of course to chose from. I clicked my neighbours squares. I have to say I'm quite jealous of the combination of one neighbour. It sounds like something you'd see on fab.
If you look it up, do not post your combination on the thread at all.
Do you already know yours? Is it amusing, or rude? Or plain boring rubbish?
If you could chose the three words yourself what would they be?
Please do not post your actual what three words for your address on the thread!!!!
What else would you look up? Buckingham Palace? The white House? A sex club? Or????

I live in the arse end on nowhere and sat navs usually send people to the middle of a local farmyard- W3W has been fantastic for getting people right outside my house, with instant zoomable mapping to look where you are and for the best route |

I'm going to use it for mine. I'm somewhere that people can't find so easily. Might stop parcels being delivered to random places at least.

"I’ve just looked up one address and it does have horn in it which has amused me. Such a child "
No more of a child than me. I found one with the word kinks in it.

"Mine is Vibrate.Belt.Played.
I kid you not!
I'm not going to look that up.
Surely yours should have more fancy words?

The location is suitably fancy |

Post your favourite club instead, as they would appreciate it. |

W3W isn't 100% reliable. I'm in the emergency services and tried it once to guide in a rescue helicopter that was going to be arriving on scene. Luckily I double checked it before giving it out as I noticed it was giving the wrong words & I'd have sent them 20 miles in the wrong direction. OS locate is far more accurate, never had a problem with it but I still always double check with a map & compass. |

I can see myself using what3words, os locate info, and every other piece of info I can use on all directions. It'll be a copy and paste job to the delivery instructions sections each time.

Amusingly, if it were vibrates (plural), I'd be asking you to tell me how many fingers you have on each hand!

I use W3W in delivery instructions. Still get couriers that can't find their arse with both hands |

We use it for modern doggin. We put on status 'we're out, anyone wanna meet? Message us for what 3 words'. Then from the messages, we pick and choose who to send the 3 words too. We've had some great meets this way. |

I think all these tools are as reliable as the GPS reception on whatever device you have. |

I checked out What3Words to see if there was real place with a rude address, like suck.my.cock or come.inside.me but clearly the designers of the service are clued up to that and removed some of the obvious ones. Brownie points to whoever can find the rudest address that still works. |

That's happened to me.
What I do now is, when I open the app, I refresh my location information and that seems to address the problem.
The first time it happened I was providing medical cover for a cross country run, at the half way point, in the middle of nowhere. I send my W3W location back to the medic control point and they pointed out I had sent their location, where I'd been half an hour earlier. Once I refreshed my location it gave the correct location.

The ability to see your location on the satellite map is a really useful tool, especially if you are close to a physical landmark. |
