Yes I used to save those tokens and take the south of France options when kids were little, what a bargain. Keycamped all around Vias, Sete, Montpellier We even went to Adge & Marseillan plage one year without knowing it was a famous swinging area ! |

I’ve never been on one but for £10 you can’t get a holiday.
I imagine it would be like carry on camping.
Charges as follows:
£10 per person.
£10 for parking.
£10 for bed linen (per person)
£10 for tv activation.
£10 for electricity (per day)
£10 for use of fridge.
£10 kettle hire (own kettle not permitted)
£5 per coat hanger.
By the time you’ve paid for everything you could probably go all inclusive in turkey, if that’s what you like.

I’ve never done it so don’t know, but advertising a holiday for £10 certainly needs the small print reading! |

You aren't far from the truth. Holiday parks, when there's least demand (and the accommodation is siting empty) but the basic package, pools, arcades, entertainment all extras

This
Went on one years ago, got to reception and were informed it was £20 per person for the evening entertainment- which we declined as we weren't interested (five blokes, a car full of beer and a bag of herbs- we make our own entertainment ) ...but were then told it wasn't optional. No sign of it anywhere in the booking agreement, but 20 minutes of arguing, they wouldn't budge.
Then there was a surcharge for the car...not sure how the fuck they think anyone can get to the remote camp site without one.
Total scam from my experience and it was fucking bleak there too |

As you said, you've never been on one so how would you know?
I used to do them and they were great. Not bottom of the range accommodation. Bedding and towels all in. Check each park for what is included.
This day and age a cheap family holiday is about all some can afford. |

No, £38. Its £9.50 per person based on 4 people sharing. 4 x £9.50 = £38.00 |

I did these often when money was tight, and have to say if you don't mind a caravan holiday they are good fun. It's all about what you make of it. We paid the £38 and then whatever else we needed added, like a cot etc. It was just a place to sleep, base, we planned days out, usually a stack of leaflets at the reception to pick through what's around and off we went each day.
Once had a pontins holiday through these and avoided them like the plague after. Didn't like the chalet there at all. The others I can't complain at. Kids were happy as can be as they don't give a monkeys about where they stay, they just love the fun of it all.

No nothing like that , you do pay your own transport & food though. For £10 we got 2 weeks accom right on the beach as Vias-Plage and ferry crossings for 4 - bargain. I think the fuel & food was around 500 at a time when an all inclusive for 4 would have cost around 2500. Plus Vias is far classier than most all inclusive resorts |
