Sort of adopted a stray cat that comes around everyday for food, company and a few hours out the cold.
Got him a box and some old carpet but problem is the house is starting to smell of cat. Have sprayed the carpet with freshner and that helps abit and lit scented candles.
Ideas apart from leaving him outside?

Smelly Cat, Smelly cat what are they feeding you?
Smelly Cat, smelly cat it's not your fault...
They won't take you to the vet.
You're obviously not their favorite pet.
You may not be a bed of roses,
And you're no friend to those with noses.
I promise you before we're done,
All the world will smell ohhhh,
Smelly cat, smelly cat what are they feeding you?
Smelly cat, smelly cat it's not your fault!

"We bath our cats if they smell that bad, not sure how badly you'll come off though if he's a stray and not used to you.
How on earth do you bath a cat???? "
Take cat. Place in toilet bowl. Close toilet lid. Flush toilet. No other actions needed - cat is self-agitating |

We have a elderly cat who can't groom himself so has a monthly bath. They get used to it. And he looks cute in his bath robe. |

My heart That’s an adorable image. My cat would scratch me to death if I tried to put one on her, damnit |

A wet flannel in some water with a drop of washing up liquid, just wipe the cat over, do that every day and there might be some improvement.
Sometimes if they're ill or elderly they won't groom themselves properly. |

My cat loves a bath I just put her one night to clean her paws. I expected trouble but she was absolutely fine. Now give her an occasional bath |

If you're going to do it, do it properly.
Do you know anything about cats?
Do you know it's a stray? Cats who have good homes will quite often roam around into other peoples homes.
You're giving it human waste food, it could have special dietary requirements and you could make it ill. A healthy cat wont smell.
Dont put it in the bath, dont use a wet flannel and WASHING UP LIQUIDE ffs
If you want to do what's right, call the local cats protection and ask for advice. This cat could be being missed by its family.

An elderly neighbour of mine years ago regularly fed my cat German sausage and general scraps but I didn’t find out until months later at which point my cat was really sick and devastatingly we ended up having to have her put down - never ever feed a cat unless you are certain it’s a stray and a vet will help with that. |

A drop of washing up liquid is just fine... It's actually recommended by rescues. I bathed literally hundreds of kittens like that with no problems. But you could also go and buy cat shampoo. |
