They're a British staple and used to love a lot of them like Mock the Week and Cats does Countdown.
However, have they outstayed their welcome? It lately seems there are too many with the rotation of the same comedians leading to a watering down if the format and overexposure for a lot of them.
Do you have any favourites or are you not really bothered? |

Completely agree, they all seem very tired now and HIGNFY is about ten years past its sell by date.
Ironically the best one is still the oldest, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue on Radio 4, which has fantastic flights of surrealism every show. |

I loved 8 out of 10 Cats but haven't watched it since Sean Locks passing. Never Mind the Buzzcocks ran out of steam when Simon Amstell left.
Couldn't tell you any modern ones still going. |

8 out of ten cats does countdown ruined two excellent shows.
8 out of ten cats was clever and funny at it's inception and beyond.
Countdown is good in it's own format.
What irks me is what is supposed to pass for funny on 8 out of 10/countdown.
Seems all you have to do is pretend to be stupid or appear in a silly costume and that's entertainment. Is it fuck. |

"I watch old Only Connect episodes on YouTube.
I don't like the host's voice or her unfunny jokes so I forward past those bits.
I tell her every week Nanna ...... You are NOT funny luv I say."
I wonder if she writes her own script. She could at least work on her delivery. |
