What's for tea, you ask me now
A feast fit for a king, I'll allow
There's roast beef, so juicy and red
Served with potatoes, fluffy and wed
There's gravy, rich and dark as night
And carrots, sweet and tender, just right
Peas, too, a bright and vibrant green
And don't forget the biscuits, so serene
There's soup, a hearty and warming stew
And sandwiches, crisp and fresh, will do
Salad, too, a refreshing delight
To balance out the meal, just right
And for dessert, a treat to end the night
A fruitcake, rich and dense, a delight
Or perhaps a pie, so flaky and sweet
A perfect end to a delicious treat
So come and sit, and let's enjoy
This meal I've cooked, with so much joy
For what's for tea is a celebration
Of food and love, a joyous elation |
