Water isn't wet because it is a liquid that wets things. Once you come into contact with water you become wet. Until then water is liquid and you are dry.

Also, our skin cannot detect wetness, it’s change in temperature. Ever had your hands or feet that were so cold they felt like they were wet to you?

You can get a product called water wetter. It's used in high performance car engines, and makes the molecules slip against each other more easily. Therefore increasing the flow rate.

I have a hole in my sock where my heel is.

I didn't realise I had a hole and kept thinking I'd put my foot on something wet.
