People who drive to work in their own vehicle with an internal combustion engine.

2 litre diesel and I commute about 70 miles a day there and back, 5 days a week with maybe another 100 miles at weekends.
It currently takes about £100 to fill my tank but I usually put £80 in and that will cover for just shy of 2 weeks. |

I spend about £50 a week on diesel. My husband currently spends £120 a week on diesel but that will rapidly increase for the next few months due to his work commitments.
It's extortionate but it's just how it is. Can't do anything different. |

"30 USD a week.
How much is it a ltr in the US?"
It's sold by the gallon in the US - just as it used to be here until about the late 70's / early 80's, thpugh a US gallon is a little smaller than a standard, imperial, British gallon.

My Corsa costs £65 to brim and a full tank of diesal will last two months if I am just going back and too to work which is 150 mile a months. It's only a 1.3 TDI.
And I can drive to Edinburgh and back on one tank of diesal
My Peugeot is petrol, 1.4 and costs about the same to fill, slightly less mile to the gallon but to be expected as a petrol

I put about £60 diesel in every two to three weeks. I do approx 30 mile round trip to work 3-4 times a week; local run around/school run and maybe one day out or to the Parkrun in Manchester at the weekend. |

"I don't like to let my car go below half a tank if possible. Costs me around £50 to fill from half, 2 to 3 times a month"
You should run it emptier. Your carting around £50 of fuel for no reason. It's adding to the weight of your car and your losing efficiency. |

8 fill my van up every month with Diesel and it costs about £100
During the summer I use a couple of lorries in work and my fuel bill every month is over £1000.
My lorry takes about £300 of Diesel but when I've been in service stations, the highest I've seen on the pump where a bigger lorry has filled up is £900. |

"30 USD a week. 4 liters in a gallon we pay by gallon currently its 360. Per gallon. "
When I was living in the US in 2018, the UK petrol price was $7.50 ish a US gallon. With the worse exchange rate I would expect it to be over $10 now.
The difference is fuel duty and VAT.
Mind you car tax was much higher in the US, it is a percentage of the value of the car. |

In the truck I do around 1800 miles a week on average using around 875 litres of diesel, but I don't pay for that so didn't include it. The 2500 is just my running around at the weekend and driving to work on a Monday and home on a Friday.
You drive that far shopping ! , thankfully I obviously live a lot closer to the shop's than you lol . |

Used to spend roughly £17 a month on petrol to do a 10 mile commute (100 miles a week ) on a little 125cc Honda. Started a new job last Tuesday which is 42 miles from my house, so dunno yet but my 03 VW Golf tdi seems to be doing over 60mpg with careful driving. |

I do about 500 miles a week and spend about 400 ish between 2 cars on petrol and diesel. If I do any extra journeys it costs me more. Its a big chunk of my wages but I love my job so I am willing to travel and pay for the fuel |

I drive a Hilux and average 450 miles per fill-up
each fill up is roughly around 60 - 65 litres costing roughly £120 per week
I fill up roughly 3 times per 2 week cycle
This is for home recreation purposes not back and forward to work as you dont drive offshore to an oilrig.

"All year round Motorbike rider here. Costs me about £15 to fill up and lasts me 2 weeks. " #
what the heck do you ride? I average 110 miles per tank and often have to fill up more than once a day
In winter the bike sits quietly in my living room awaiting spring. |

"It's tempting to fill up with red
It’s not alot cheaper.
It is when you don't buy it from a garage "
Repeat. It’s not a lot cheaper. It is a bit yes, but there isn’t the wide difference that there used to be. |

anyone drive a "petrol" 4x4 SUV?
I drive a Hilux but diesel costs of 20 - 25p a litre higher than petrol is making me consider changing
the only problem is that I do a lot of offroad driving and need something that could equal the Hilux in performance |

It is in a certain place here. There's going to be lots of machines getting sucked dry when the new law comes into effect. I'm not sure if it's happened already.. basically machines are not going to be allowed to run on red diesel anymore. |

It’s already the law now. Construction sites have to be on white now. Red currently about 35p cheaper before vat. |

As if things aren't expensive enough already. That's going to force prices of things up even further. |

Absolutely. There’s some big machines on these sites, and a lot of them. 500 litres a day not uncommon, and more, per machine. How long would 500 litre’s last the average car user? |

"Way too much tbh , the cost of petrol in this Country is absolutely scandalous...the Government take 67% in fuel tax ...a shower of f*****s !! "
And then you pay VAT on the fuel tax.
What's more how come, petrol stations get away with charging a percentage of a penny? |

I’m curious to know, given how much is paid in fuel duty and vat by car drivers alone, what happens when that tax isn’t coming anymore because everyone has been forced down the electric car road, how is that shortfall in government revenue to be made up? Add to this the road tax shortfall because electric are taxed lower, that is going to be a mega amount. The state of the roads now are dreadful, how will they be improved?
The green lobby will claim that it’s necessary for the environment. Ok, so for arguments sake we accept that, but what about the countries, with far more vehicles than we have, who don’t force their sheep into electric vehicles. And what about all the hundreds, sorry thousands of flights that take place daily.
To me, they aren’t trying to save the planet, they’re trying to save the oil to use in things that can’t be changed to electric. Mega taxes, forcing us into electric cars and dangerously rough roads are the first steps.
Maybe I’m wrong. |

I work as a delivery driver so I’d say about £60/80 depending on how bad roads are and how many miles I’m travelling a week… two trips for petrol a week… |
