Hi there fellow Fabbers xxx

I see the late 80’s series Howard’s Way is being repeated … in full on Drama TV. This in the day was seen as the Britain’s answer to Dallas / Dynasty etc.

I sooo loved this series, the gorgeous ladies, the 80’s fashions …. Oh and the cheesy story lines …. Loving it!!

Jan Harvey …the ultimate MILF (well she was back then)

Tracey Child’s …. Mmmmmmm, gorgeous young lady

Susan Gilmore …. Gorgeous lady with brains and talent!!

Stephen Yardley … sleazy bastard!!

Mmmmm looking forward to the shoulder pads, mullet hair cuts …. and occasional hint of stocking top!

I'm going to have to Google this little gem, however before I do so, was this epic similar to Carlito's Way?

I remember the theme tune. My mother used to watch whatever followed it on Sunday evening so always caught the closing credits. I always wondered if it featured any actual sailing or if the closing credits were purely aspirational.

To answer both questions above ….

No, it is nothing to do with Carlitos Way - I think that was American?

Yes it is set against a backdrop of the ‘exclusive’ world of big yacht sailing … as Dallas was around oil, but many of the plots, sub plots etc are not connected with that, more on relationships etc.

Loving the women’s women’s fashions and hairstyles… I did back then

All I remember was the old guy getting his calculations wrong and buying the wrong engine size for a boat. Which was for some reason catastrophic for the firm

I've had the theme tune in my head since I read your post OP.

I wonder if the series will stand the test of time or look horribly dated now?

It was very 80s. The jazzy version of the theme tune was better

Of course it is dated!! .. lol. There is a degree of misogyny, and sexism as there was then … but as I recall also touched on homosexuality which was quite a breakthrough back then.
