Do you read a person's profile before replying to a thread comment,to get a feel for their personality as portrayed in their description, or just respond indifferent to who they are? |

No, not for forum posts... unless it's a "would you shag the person above" thread |

Couldn't give less of a shit. Me and Carl are having the bromance of a lifetime and his profile could have been created by a cat that pressed all the random buttons! |

Always read profile in full if we are about to respond otherwise just a quick glance |

Depends on the type of thread. To be fair, if they use the forum I’ve looked at their profile anyway because I’m a nosey mare.
But particularly tongue in cheek sort of thread starters, they usually have entertaining profiles. |

That sounds like overkill to reply to a thread comment. I'd only check them out properly if they particularly intrigued me, because I either think they seem cool or a massive dickhead. |

Rarely for that reason but I frequently check out the profiles of posters if I liked what they said (or, being shallow, if I liked their profile picture). |

No. I wouldn't say I'm completely indifferent in how I respond to a post, I'm very aware of my own biases but actively try to avoid them. I'll probably look at their profile if I'm dazzled by their brilliant take on a subject or thinking what a cock though. |

To post my own comment? No
To block them for breaking rules or being offensive or something? Not usually but sometimes I'll read it if I'm trying to decide is it just a really poor attempt at sarcasm etc |

Depends on what the post is about.
Sometimes I read a profile before adding to the thread .
Sometimes I check a profile after reading some replies...
Some threads are certainly good to out people who you really know are not for you

Usually but then other times i haven't and then read it after I’ve sent a message, ahhhh that’s why they ignored me….. |

"Not before replying, but if I find their posts interesting (or irritating, tbh), I might have a peek at the profile. "
That for me too. Half the time when I reply I can't remember who the OP is, I'm certainly not checking their profile unless it's germane to the thread (advice on profile, favourite photo etc).
If a post makes me laugh or is particularly interesting I will sometimes check out the poster's profile though. |

I'll do that for messages.
Never for forum comments. I don't see the need. I wouldn't expect to be able to ascertain someone's opinions on most subjects from a profile, nor always get that great an idea on personality.
Besides. Personality doesn't always correlate to specific viewpoints on everything.

Hell no.
Also, I also realise I could be replying to people who may have blocked me in the past and that could explain why replies are so low. but i don’t open profiles to reply. After a while I might when I start to reckognise names, and start to want to know more. |

Not at all. Not even my thought process when using the forums.
If I go to anyone's profile from the forum its probably because I saw a nice bum, nice legs or muscular thighs in a profile pic |

No. It was a mildly flirty joke. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to improve it with a lengthy explanation, though

Only if they ask for profile advice, or are local.

" Do you read a person's profile before replying to a thread comment …"
Not for forum posts, nope. Their chat gives me a much better feel for their personality than a profile ever could.
For everything else, yeah. Of course. |

If they said something horrible or controversial, I might look, mainly for that delicious hypocrisy chowder that people often leave in their profiles... But most people, nah, unless I have replied to someone specifically a few times, or them men, in which case I might look to learn more about them. |
