My partner and I have slept in separate rooms for years. Mostly due to my very loud snoring and her health issues

We have separate houses!

We got married in the summer but it suits us still to have our own places especially when I’m working odd hours.

... this sounds like a very good idea. no housework chores to argue about and peace when required.

We start the night in the same bed but one of us usually ends up in the next room if not both of us as the 4 dogs take over the bed

You’re telling me this is an option and I don’t actually have to endure the snoring or him taking up the whole bed

I have the same ... And I'm single. The joys of having a dog!

And she isn't gonna accept sleeping in a separate bed.

If I had a spare room I'd jump at the chance to have a bed to myself. I'm such a light sleeper and my partner constantly wakes me and sleep is precious.

I’m such a light sleeper and he snores and moves about far to much for my liking, I don’t have a spare room though so maybe 2 single beds at different sides of the room might help

I did for years before my husband and I split up.

He started sleeping on the sofa downstairs and I had the bedroom.

That was for about 15 years before the last day he was in the house.

Done it for years as we both snore (although she won't admit it).

Anyways, turns out for the best, my bed is much more comfy than hers...

Didn’t realise sleeping in separate beds was so popular ..I couldn’t think of anything worse .I like snuggling in bed and I can’t really sleep well on my own luckily for me tho I’m a deep sleeper and my husband don’t snore .

.

Sometimes I quite like it, when I just want to watch a film and switch off from the world. But I'm too silly and like waking up or falling asleep on his chest too much to do want to do it permanently.

We've had separate bedrooms for well over 10 years.

My wife no longer fancies me sexually, and has told me so (ouch!).

I really miss our naked cuddles, and wanking just isn't the same.

This was a "thing" when the 1991 Census results emerged. They called it "living-together-separately". We had to revise our housing demand as the number of people to marital status to housing ratios needed recalibrating!
