This is a shameless thread cause I want some sympathy and I know there are you guys out there who know all about being in pain ...................
Just been to the docs with a bloody painful shoulder and been told I need an xray but they think its just nerve damage !
They won't give me any pain killers till after the xray cause then I won't do anything that hurts and possibly do more damage !!!
Cant have the bloody xray till Monday ...............

I think that you should take some pain relief Raz,its a long time to wait until after the Xray and if they thought it was an emergency they would have got you there sooner,so i don't think its fair to say you can't take anything
You're not silly its not as if you're going to take 2 paracetamol and then go hang gliding........is it  |

Should have come to A& E with me last night. They sorted mine out a treat and there was some well hunky doctors about! (hasten to add i prefer the nurses mi self ...) |

Sending tea and sympathy ... but at least you're getting a relatively quick X-ray. pom was fobbed off for 8 YEARS before they finally relented and gave him a scan a few months. They found the muscle had been torn from the bone all those years ago and he had a major op at the end of Sept. He's still in agony so certainly sympathises with you regarding shoulder pain!
He may be home for several months yet (can I survive that long?? ) ... hope your problem is sorted PDQ. Keep us posted

Present yourself at A&E tomorrow morning (after the Friday night bevvy merchants have gone and before that Saturday morning football injuries begin to arrive) and tell the receptionist you have chest pains (that'll help you to the top of whatever queue there is).
The tell the triage nurse you've had then chest pain came on in the night and, since you hurt your shoulder, ask if the two might be connected.
That should get your an x-ray, an ECG and a bottle of Brufen to take away with you.
Just hope the nurse doesn't read the Fab forums |

Ohhh Razzy,
I had pulled my shoulder a few months ago, and was in total agony.
It lasted over a week - and luckily one of my colleages was into Acupuncture and tried it on me.
The needles he stuck in my nexk didnt feel to do anything and i was about to poopoo it, but then the two he stuck in my should made a fizzy feeling start and a heat to spread - and it really REALLY did help.
He did it 3 days on the trot and it cleared up pretty much soon after

Actually not moved about much yet lol, had my rather nice long dose of Ibuprofen last night which helped immensely lol, but seriously thinking of going up the hospital this morning to see if they will give me some decent pain killers till Monday, got lots to do and can't do it !!! xx xx |

I'm not totally sure Ibruprofen will really help in these circumstances although it would help to take your mind off the pain.....you definitely wouldn't get anything done if you continue to take that through the day

Oh well, if it's only housework anyway, keep up with the Ibruphrofen and enjoy your day |
