New years eve just another date, I used to stay up and watch the fireworks etc from London, don't even do that any more.
But since moving I have joined a very vanilla social group to meet people and there's a party tonight.
So I'm off out |

Totally overrated date and celebration… a vicious circle of starting every new year by scaring dogs and littering cities.
It’s almost 2023 and we are still unable to celebrate in a civilised way |

Can I join this club please?
It all seems like another media hyped excuse for businesses to charge extra and fleece the consumer. A local bar has cancelled the band they had booked for tonight because of poor ticket sales. They have the band on regularly during the year, with no admission fee... kinda proves my point, and makes me less inclined to go to that bar again in the future.
But other than that, it's just another day - nothing's going to be any different tomorrow from today. We can reflect and make decisions about ourselves and our lives any day of the year...
So for me, I'll probably be in bed and asleep by 11 tonight. |

Yep, I have looked all over, checked under the bed and sofas, the kitchen cupboards and the garden shed yet I cannot find a single fuck to give for NYE. |

I have never found them to be that much fun,
in my youth I would go along to what ever disco or ballroom that was putting on a celebration beliving it would make my new year,
but most times it cost way too much money (hair do, outfit, taxi, ticket, booze at top prices and so on...)
one year, I was leaving a london bash and a chancer attenmpted to rob my handbag... that was not nice, obviously
Now I live elsewhere I just prefer the quiet type of evening at home with my beloved. Music on the radio, few drinks, no fuss. |

I try my hardest not to go out on NYE. I don't attach emotion to the night, I just don't like a million tongues heading for my mouth as the clock strikes midnight. I certainly don't want to pay a premium to get into a pub I would normally pay to avoid, and it's a giant hassle trying to sort out transport.
I'm more than happy to stay home and veg out on the sofa in my pyjamas. |

I could be vaguely interested if I lived in the southern hemisphere. Would probably stretch to a midnight swim.
More than happy to be in bed asleep, as nature intended, at this shitty time of year.
However, will no doubt get woken up by explosions from inconsiderate morons with money to burn. Whatever happened to loud fireworks getting legislated out quite a few years ago? I can't believe that my hearing has improved with age. Fireworks are louder than ever! |

"Hello Lisa I’m not a fan of New Year either. Quite happily snuggle on down away from the world. If you’re popping the kettle on, please may I have a brew? "

"Dreading it to be honest.
Why?
I'll be around some folk who drink far too much on NYE and it usually ends up being a long night. Keep saying I'll go away for it but not succeeded yer."
Stay safe |

"One of our dogs does not like fireworks bigtime .
Usually we go for a midnight walk on the South Downs to get away from them.
Weather looks cak for later so maybe they won't happen."
Fingers crossed |

"Tea, anyone?

Of course!
Count me in ladies.
A new year's eve cake fest ... maybe that's the answer "
Sounds good to me. We just have to make sure there’s enough, because I’m a big fatty. |
